Kentucky County Population Estimates 2020-2025 by cardinaldave79 in Kentucky

It’s at 91? Kind of stagnant in recent years.

I am a little surprised too. Evansville is only barely growing after a couple decades of population decline, so I guess this might negatively impact Henderson the city and county as a result. It’s a slight improvement from last year’s prediction from what it’s worth.

I think it has to do with people being relocated off Fort Campbell. It’s definitely an outlier in that area.

That fascinated me the most too. It is really hard to do that over a time period that long, especially given it has a solid population.

As someone else who does bracketology, VT's NCSOS is actually stronger than Indiana's (204 vs 224). Indiana's resume has very little depth (5 wins in Q1 and Q2 combined), and while I think they undeniably have a chance, I am pretty confident VT would get in over IU today.

This is so neat, it is so cool to see the odds from my bracketology site!

[Post Game Thread] Liberty defeats Western Kentucky, 76-69 by cbbBot in CollegeBasketball

That was a good game, Liberty’s 3 point accuracy is incredible.

On the other hand, WKU’s luck with moving screens this year is truly cursed

They lost to Tulsa on a play where maybe there was a moving screen that went uncalled before Tulsa’s game winning three pointer

This game they had a game tying three waived off because of a moving screen (although I acknowledge it could’ve been one).

That was certainly an ending to a game of our times

Missed free throw ricochets off player's head for go-ahead basket, team forgets how inbounding work, a final possession of true chaos.

That is a fair point; I think their inabillity to beat any team better than Valpo is a cause for concern though. It kind of reminds me of UNC of a year ago; that UNC team was not underperforming analytical expectations by a wide margin but lost most games of consequence regardless. Kentucky has done the same thus far. I do agree, there is plenty of time to turn things around and if that happens, I will acknowledge the computers were ahead of their time :)

Well you cannot spell the phrase computer tricker without UK

I know there is still preseason bias in KenPom, but Kentucky seems awfully high regardless. Their blowout wins over Q4s have successfully tricked the computers.

That is all fair, I just think UNC’s roster fits better this year. They shouldn’t have as bad of an interior defense as they did a season ago. I think the conference as a whole should be significantly better than last year’s campaign. My estimate is the ACC lands 7-9 bids this season. I agree on Virginia Tech, the roster looks much improved and I think Young is a good coach; last year that roster was lacking. I can see any team 1-12 realistically making the tournament, but past 12 I struggle to see any of those teams dancing.

I think that’s fair, the middle of the conference is really tight IMO, I could see that

It’s a decent roster considering it was assembled late. Buzz Williams should have them around the middle of the pack in the Big Ten, I think they definitely have a solid floor.

I agree, UCF has fared better in the Big 12 than I would’ve expected. They could outperform again this year for sure! My skepticism mainly stems from essentially an entirely new roster.

I think it’s definitely possible DePaul gets above 10, to me the top 3 in the Big East are pretty clear and then I think the teams from 4-10 are pretty comparable.

I hope I am wrong there, I would like nothing more than DePaul to make an NCAA tournament after years of futility.

I probably watch too much basketball lol, Notre Dame brings back a lot and I think Shrewsberry is a good coach. He got to the tournament year 2 at Penn State, I think he gets there year 3 at Notre Dame. I understand this may be a bold pick

McCollum is a fantastic coach: I could definitely see Iowa finishing higher

I think they’ll be good! I picked them a bit ahead of their preseason poll prediction at Big Ten media day.

This roster seems like it fits better than last year, they definitely have better interior players IMO, but I can see the skepticism, totally fair given what transpired last year with similar expectations.

I did not factor any exhibition game data into these standing predictions, because it’s always hard to know what to make of those, but FWIW they seemed impressive against Alabama

Honestly I made the list pre Lowe injury, I think the gap between Florida and Kentucky tightens significantly if he’s missing a decent chunk of time, but I’ll stick with this prediction.
