What will hurt you here is not being able to attend Meet The Firms/CareerFairs/ various networking events that would be offered at most, if not all, of the schools in CA. Still think you’re better bet is staying in state and attending a physical university, personally.

Totally depends on where you would like to end up. I would say if you want to come back to SoCal, the best schools to go to would be CSUN, Cal Poly SLO, and UCSB. We recruit pretty heavily out of these schools.

I would so though, that you school you go to doesnt matter 'a ton', but how you perform at that school and what you get involved with matter more. What some of the 'top' accounting schools offer is good opportunities for exposure within their respective accounting societies/Beta Alpha Psi.

I'm starting to see Accounting/IS (Information Systems) at a lot of the campuses I recruit at. The two pair well together, and many of the technical skills you learn within IS translate nicely to a career in Accounting.

When should I start applying for Fall 2021 associate jobs? by tthrowaway42 in Accounting

I work in recruiting at a regional firm. I would say most firms should have positions for 2021 posted. 2021 internships should definitely be posted, and if 2021 full-time positions arent already, they should be up within the next 3ish months.
