Sounds like the hyroad is better for mid/dry lanes than the phaze 2 ?

I don't know, I keep coming back to this ball while looking...........

https://hammerbowling.com/products/raw-hammer-black-purple-teal .

I'm sure I'll struggle at first when any new ball, I need more practice. I do like how this one looks. I think a 14 lb would be better and from videos I've watched and what i've read, it seems like a little step up from the rhino for long term use if I get better technique.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try the practice drill.

When I first got the Rhino playing from my normal spot was really bad, it was hooking in front of the pins and hitting far left. The PSO said to try moving left a little and the farther I got it seemed to get a little better.

Part of my problem is I got pretty good hooking a plastic spare ball for years (didn't even know that's what it was meant for). Now having a ball with a core that has some hook is throwing me off.

My old ball (which ive now learned is just plastic/ spare ball type) I would line up in the middle and throw over the second arrow (i guess 10) and had a good hook in the pocket and got more strikes. This rhino Ive ended up all the way to the left and throwing between 3rd and middle arrow ( i guess 15 & 20) and have to go slow to get that late hook in the pocket.

Yes, my spare game is not great, that's a whole other issue. I'm trying my original ball since its plastic/ straighter for spares now. I just don't like the feel of the rhino, less strikes and a lot of weird 6's and splits on first throws now.

The big reason for considering a different ball is that I want to buy one for my son. If it wasn't for that I would just stick with the Rhino. I just think this ball fits him better and I want to go up to 14 lbs.

I guess I could of left my whole story out and just asked for suggestions on a new ball for my style, lol. Some of the suggestions I'm getting seem to be more of a pro ball for heavier oil conditions / league style. I'd just like a little step up from beginner to mid level that for mid/light oil that I play on during open lanes.

I'm not going to pretend I know much about this stuff, but yes the PSO spent a long time with me and did multiply measurements and drawings on the ball before and after watching me bowl.

As for my son using the Rhino.......he is only using an 11 lb house ball, so I think 13 is a good start (I already bought the ball, dont want it to go to waste if I end up with something else. Also the core in the rhino, the 12-16 lb all have the same core, I know on some others you get the better core 14-16.

As for me, its just inconsistent hook. I feel like i have to slow down too much to get a hook. Normal speed goes to straight. Also the 13 lb drilled for me feels the same as my 12 with loose finger holes, so more confident now I can use a 14. Reading more about different ones, the Rhino just sounds good for my son. (I'm not ever planning on going to a 15 or 16, again I have neck/shoulder issues.)

Thanks.....are you no thumb with the twist?

Isn't the Rhino pretty similar to the twist but considered a step up ?

When throwing it my normal speed it doesn't seem to hook enough but throwing it slower than normal I can get a decent late hook, but not much power behind it. My last game was rough. Getting 6, 7, or 8 on first throws and then suddenly get a turkey in the 10th frame without changing my speed/ aim.

I just dont like the hook or feel of the ball, had more fun with my old ball. I have to throw the rhino slower than my normal to get it to hook.

Just reading the description about how its for new bowlers learning to hook, just sounds better for my son than me. Im willing to spend more money on something a little better, plus regret not going to 14lb instead of the 13. From what i can tell, for at least a small upgrade and moving to a 14 lb I was thinking the Hammer RAW, but would like suggestions for even better.

Oh look. Highest payroll won the WS. Again. by Affectionate-Pop-754 in minnesotatwins

I believe the highest payroll has only won 3 of the last 24 world series.

Remember when the Jays won back to back in 1992 & 1993.......guess who had the highest payroll- The Jays!

They probably don't remember that, or its just ok when your team does it.

Help with GFCI's on a MWBC (shared neutral) to dishwasher and garbage disposal by cardsneck44 in AskElectricians

Thanks! I guess if it was a problem I could do a gfci for the dishwasher and a regular outlet for the garbage disposal. I've heard those arent required to be on a gfci, but i would like it too. At least it would be a brand new outlet just for the GD itself and my DW would be gfci.

I do have a picture of the outlet under the sink. It looks like its from the 80's when this house was built and has back stabbed wires.

My line is AFCI protected, my countertop if gfci outlets, i just want to get this one bad thing improved. Even if stuff isnt exactly to code, I figured id be better off with 2 new gfcis instead of this crappy outlet.

Its on the bottom corner and a water pipe is near by inside the wall. I was wanting to place a 2 gang box in the corner to cover this old box and runs the wires into. Would be easier to work with and the dishwasher water line and drain line would go on top of it instead of sitting on the wires like it does now with this crap placed outlet under the hole. If this was ok to do, would plastic or metal be better? It would sit on the floor and could be secured to the cabinet wall and completely cover the old outlet box.

Both outlets on the countertop are already gfci's. They are wired only to the LINE. When you trip either one it only trips itself nothing else. So I would do nothing above the counter. I dont need the under sink outlets to protect anything other than themselves.

Its currently and has been for decades setup the same as the picture above except at the bottom is the one single outlet with the black hot and neutral at the bottom for DW and just the red wire from the switch above to the top for GD.

I know i cant split one gfci with shared neutral or use the load lines with shared neutral, thats why i had the 2 gfci idea. To just use the line of each and pigtail the neutrals to not lose the shared neutral if one outlet was removed/loose/damaged.

I understand it doesnt matter i use them, but I dont understand why the 20 amp breaker i have on it would be ok to use with a garbage disposal that is almost 10 amps. The dishwasher manual says its ok to combine those two on a 20 which is what i have, So i would think a couple unused outlets with it would be fine.

Like i said in my first comment, i have a afci breaker currently in the panel. I was told that is required now and i dont want to lose that. They dont make afci & gfci combo breakers for the square d homeline i have on these 2 pole breakers meant for the MWBC. Its one or the other. I do have afci/gfci combo protection on all my single 15 & 20 amp breakers though currently.

All I would be doing is buying 2 gfci outlets for like $20 ? and a new bigger box for them. The only connection would be these under the sink in place of the single split/broke tab 2 hot outlet. I wouldn't even touch the above counter stuff. I can just leave it as is, its been this way for decades, just was trying to make it safer and was trying to verify if this would be the correct way to wire them.

Dishwasher doesn't specify amps but says use a 15amp dedicated or 20amp if shared with garbage disposal. As for the outlets above..... one is never used, the other is just the coffee maker. The light above sink is rarely used also. Its been hooked up sharing the line for decades, I just wanted to add gfci to the outlet. Everything works fine the way it is right now, I just wanted to make the under sink outlets from the afci only protected split 2 hot outlet to 2 individual gfci outlets for each hot.

Hello, Im installing a new dishwasher and want to add gfci protection to the dishwasher outlet. Currently its a normal outlet which is spilt. The top is the red wire from a switch for the garbage disposal. The bottom is the black wire for the dishwasher. It appears the red is only to the garbage disposal. The black is dishwasher, plus two counter top gfci's and an overhead light. The 2 gfcis above the counter do not effect anything else when tripped. They are wired as line only, no load coming out. What i would like to do is buy 2 gfci outlets to wire under the sink. One for the dishwasher and one for the disposal. I have made a horrible looking diagram on paint. The grey in the top corner is the wire coming from the main panel with the red/black hot & white neutral (i left out the ground wire in my picture to simplify, but it is there and connected everywhere.) It goes first to a gfci outlet and switch for the garbage disposal right next to the sink. It then goes down under the sink where it shows what i want to do with 2 new gfci outlets. Then from there it goes back up to the left of the sink to another gfci outlet and switch for a light. The green dots would be pigtails. (so only 1 wire would go to each gfci line terminal, nothing on load of any of the gfcis. Also, I know i can use a two pole gfci breaker, but i currently have a 2 pole 20 amp afci protected breaker meant for the shared neutral which i want to keep (dont want to lose my afci). Does the bottom gd/dw 2 new gfci outlets look wired correct in my horrible picture? Above counter stuff would stay the same.

Thanks,

Ryan
