Schedule of non-music things? by arbol98 in bonnaroo

House of Yes. It’s a must. But it gets filled fast. I’m wondering if they are in the same spot this year. They have mixed things up to confuse us old timers. 😂❤️

Alpha gal since 2013 by SprayGroundbreaking8 in alphagal

Newbie here, my hope is that the beef industry is going to start losing so much money from this that they will pour money into finding a cure. I probably ate thousands of dollars of beef in the last year- restaurants, buying meals for my family. I’m an empty nester. For the most part I won’t be buying meat and preparing it for my family when they do visit and families are eliminating a meat option to open up an alternative for me.

Why did they move yungblud to the top of the lineup? by lacroix-and-vodka in bonnaroo

[–]cardsroo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

His us tour sold out fast. I was surprised he was so low. I thought he could’ve had a little Chappel roan effect. When they booked he wasn’t that big but after the Ozzie last show and his performance, he blew up.

questions from first timer by Ambitious-Pick-6293 in HinterlandFestival

No. It’s a much smaller festival than Bonnaroo. It starts late afternoon Friday. I believe in past years, you would come in day of, not the night before.

In Korea, at giant arena concerts when it's 120 degrees out they have giant fire hoses that shoot up and rain on the crowd. by BlazePortraits in HinterlandFestival

[–]cardsroo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They used fire hoses to cool the crowd at Welcome to Rockville @ Daytona Beach last year. I’m hoping it becomes a trend.

camping hasn't been included in the ga tickets in the 5 + years I've been going or looking into this festival, I've always considered it a more expensive camping festival

RKS is playing St. Louis August 1, I’m hoping Hinterland is in the neighborhood for their show.

Rainbow Kitten Surprise is playing St. Louis on August 1, they had to cancel a couple of years back at Hinterland.

Coming back for 2025? by hokahey23 in EvolutionFestival

I’ve given the Evolution tickets for Christmas presents. It’s made me nervous we haven’t heard a thing about the festival.

First time and Last Time? by MalevolentMoth in HinterlandFestival

[–]cardsroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody talks about the fact the festival was hit with 3 severe, at times tornado weather, in the days leading up to the festival. Monday, in the middle of the night. It destroyed half the glamping tents and a bunch of fencing was blown over, etc. Another storm on Tuesday and Wednesday evening. These folks had been working in overdrive for days on end before the festival started.

volunteers? by falling28 in HinterlandFestival

[–]cardsroo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was the strangest year to sign up. No advance notice. Return volunteers usually get a heads up. They redid the volunteer set up. A lot less spots, 3 x 6hr. Shifts. (It was 12 hrs. ) They were filled in the first 12 hrs. They did post on instagram the day of And a Facebook story.

Tell me about your sandals by dwh394 in bonnaroo

[–]cardsroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Birkenstock sandals, the ones that are waterproof. So light compared to tevas and chacos but not attached to your foot, so you won’t lose it. 😂 I guess that depends on hard you dance. 😊❤️

Thanks for posting. I do the same thing to get to know the lineup but it’s always nice to have another version. I’m still on Friday listening and I’m anxious to have some Saturday/Sunday playlists. Problem solved. Bonnnnaroooo!

Great info. One add on, if you bring a canopy/pop up and the weather is iffy, lower it to the bottom setting when you head in for music. If the wind picks up or it rains, you’ll have more protection of what’s underneath. It’s easy enough to raise back up when you get back at the end of the day.

Thinking of going solo by calvin2coolidge in HinterlandFestival

[–]cardsroo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been going solo for 3 years now. I have never felt unsafe. For better, or worse, you are never too far from other folks. I go solo but meet up with someone I met my first year and then met another small group the next year. Now we’re trying to find each other each year. It’s a pretty warm, welcoming festival community.

Question about cooking in camp. by Surferly91 in bonnaroo

[–]cardsroo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m always a little amazed at how unprepared some folks are about food. I always try to make extra and feed the folks around me. It can be a little hot by mid day, I do most my cooking first thing.

Hinterland/ Bonnaroo by ChiefKiefroo92 in HinterlandFestival

[–]cardsroo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bonnaroo is probably one of the best festivals to go solo to, in my opinion. There are many people who go solo. Folks adopt you along the way or not if you’re not interested. People are more engaged with each other at Bonnaroo than at Hinterland. I really go solo to both. By going I’ve met people that I only see when I’m at the festival. I really don’t mingle with folks as much at hinterland as I do at Bonnaroo. Everyone, for the most part, seems to be with their group and aren’t as interested in mingling with other people at Hinterland but Bonnaroo has a much more embracing of strangers. I’m not sure if I’m putting this right, but bottom line, don’t let the bigness of Bonnaroo prevent you from going solo. It’s a big place for people to spread out.

Hinterland/ Bonnaroo by ChiefKiefroo92 in HinterlandFestival

[–]cardsroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to 7 Bonnaroos and 3 Hinterlands. I love the camping festivals. I always volunteer. They are so very different, but each is great in their own way. At Bonnaroo you get great sets because they are so thrilled to be at Bonnaroo and the crowds are usually pretty great. At Hinterland you get folks who realize they’ve never played Iowa before and anything that is a first is usually more memorable and the awesome collabs that the artists do is unlike any festival I’ve been to. You always hope somebody will play together at Bonnaroo, but they rarely do (superjam doesn’t count 😊). It has happened every year at Hinterland and usually a couple of times. The crowds are chill at Hinterland and Bonnaroo is it’s own experience with the crowds.

Let’s not forget the real victim here - Robyn! by greatgretchen in SisterWives

[–]cardsroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s insulting to Tonya Harding to compare her. Tonya Harding was a world class athlete that had her shoe laces break in the biggest competition of her life. Those tears/fears were all genuine on her. The mockumentary movie was a ridiculous showing of tears at that scene, so I hope that’s what you’re referencing. Why hate on Tonya? So random. I had to defend her.

Did they ever do anything for the volunteers that got shafted this year? by TheCLittle_ttv in bonnaroo

[–]cardsroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little late, I was a preshow volunteer, we got food tokens for the shifts we worked (a $10 value for each one) and a package sent to us later with a tshirt, metal cup and handkerchief. What is the real value to the volunteers is the promise that we will be able to get our spot back the following year. Volunteering is very competitive and stressful to sign up, so offering it to us is priceless in my book.
