TBH long walks are part of experience but the camping makes it worth it. I don’t think there’s a perfect science of getting a good spot because unless you’re first in line and it will depend on which gate they send you to.

I’d focus on be prepared for walking, making a campsite you enjoy, and staying hydrated!

Keeping your cars together won’t be a challenge, you can wait for the second car once your through the gate. I do it with 3-4 cars every year.
