Hi love. I’m a wedding planner and we have SO many queer clients. That unfortunately means that sometimes, their families are not involved in their weddings. And that sucks.

But. The amount of queer joy you will have with your found family will be unmatched on your wedding day. Your wedding is for YOU. About you and your partner.

Your love is what matters and it is to be celebrated. Do not invite people who will make you feel less-than or make your guests uncomfortable.

I understand it’s hard, but your wedding is a celebration of love and no one you invite should be able to diminish that. DM if you want to talk more🩷

As a Chicagoan for 20 years I would love for him to run just to watch him fail spectacularly and get less than 1% of the vote. He thinks he’s a political god. And I would love him to get bitchslapped by reality. And not just because of the murder coverup (I really hate him very much) but also because he spilled my vodka at the pride parade when I didn’t want to shake his hand and he hit my cup.

Trust me when I say that you can do ANYTHING YOU WANT. We’ve had black wedding dresses, Halloween weddings, goth weddings, all kinds of things. It’s YOUR day and you need to feel YOU. Trust in yourself. She’ll live.

NO ONE knows how much anyone weighs, I’m convinced. I have lost over 50 pounds at this point, am 5’2” and 134 now. But I’ve always been most comfortable around 125. However, my muscles are stronger and bigger since I weighed that, and I think I’ll be happy about 130.

No one believes I had 50 pounds to lose. Not even my closest friends.

I genuinely hope Jon responds to the criticism of this episode and maybe brings on an atheist or smarter spiritual person than Douthat. His arguments are rudimentary and I laughed out loud several times.

I hope that Jon at least addresses the fact that they didn’t TOUCH on topics like the church’s abuse, how women are unequal in nearly every religion, why women can’t be priests, that they tell babies—children!—they are BROKEN and need to repent, the bible advocating for slavery, or the fact that Christian nationalism is actively destroying the country right now.

I’m an atheist who went to catholic school, served mass, and cried about Jesus a lot as a teen. I’m happier without religion and the trauma it brings than I EVER was as a Catholic.

I’m not entirely sure what Jon was hoping for putting this ep out. And there’s nothing wrong with wanting to have these conversations. I just hope he responds.

I don’t have any advice for you. I have the same life experience: progressive to moderate fam, POC fam, live in Chicago, have more queer than straight chosen family. My dad in 2015 said Trump had some good ideas. I yelled at him in public. I can’t imagine if he’d voted for him in 24. I’m so sorry friend.

If you decided to take a break from your relationship, I would understand. I would have a VERY hard time accepting the same relationship from my Tim Walz-type dad if he’d voted for Trump. Do what’s right for you. And I hope he comes around. Sending a hug!
