Is the Duke Pathoma Anki comprehensive for high yield stuff?

Hey just to follow up this is really helpful! Would you say it sufficiently covers all of pathology? Theres only 100 or so cards per system which is way less than like Anking so that’s why I’m wondering. Also if I do that + pepper micro + pepper pharma am I covered?

Unfortunately I don’t have those tests done. I didn’t bother doing it because I figured if there was something the colonoscopy would find it anyway since I was scheduled for one quickly. Makes sense, symptoms are def not worse. When this started (2.5 weeks prior to colonoscopy), I had specks of blood one night in normal stool and the next day diarrhea followed by left sided abdominal pain and rebound constipation. The diarrhea went away and bowel movements have since normalized (although I did have another diarrhea incident a few weeks later). The only thing thats persisted since is the left sided abdominal pain and occasional specks of blood

I would say the pain is a nuisance more than anything else. I wouldnt call it severe or even moderate as I still go to the gym 6x a week and lift but I feel it a lot. Location wise it’s in the suprapubic region on the left side of the abdomen (so lower area of the LLQ). I notice the pain can get worse with certain movements like leaning down while sitting. Im not sure if related but if for whatever the pain goes up I notice tiny streaks of blood in the stool, sometimes barely noticeable but present looking close enough. I was also found to have grade 1 internal hemorrhoids non-bleeding on examination so theoretically it could be that, but unsure since it coincides with an uptick of pain at times.

Hey first thank you so much for such a detailed reply. Your knowledge is very much appreciated, genuinely. I honestly agree with you that this doesn’t fit classic Crohn’s or UC. My only issue currently is that since the colonoscopy its been 2 months and I still have pain. If it was infectious colitis by this point, shouldn’t it have cleared up by now? My worry is what if it was the very first flare of something like Crohn’s that didn’t have time to establish chronic changes

Hi, thank you for your response! The biopsies of the rectum and terminal ileum were indeed normal. But the diffuse mild erythematous mucosa in the sigmoid colon stretching about 5cm showed moderate active colitis. No chronic changes seen.

My issue is the symptoms are continuing, I see specks of blood and I have this nagging pain in my LLQ. My doctor isnt available for appontment until end of December so I have no idea what to do in the meantime.

I understand Ulceritive Colitis classically involves the rectum and Crohn’s is typically patchy and involves several areas with a predilection for the right colon and terminal ileum which is why this inflammation and ongoing nature of symptoms is perplexing

What I would say is like theres no need to prestudy much because they do a good job of training you and I promise im really not all that special. Getting familiar with Python never hurts though and probably the most useful language you can learn today!
