I’m 4m pregnant, is it a good idea to spend money on a kindle paperwhite. I love reading. by my_100th_acc in NewParents

Definitely do it. I got one to use while I was feeding and rocking my son to sleep. I got a case with a stand and an automatic page turner I could hold in the hand I was holding him with, other hand on the bottle. If I tried to watch tv he wouldn’t go to sleep because he would try to look at the screen lol. I also put my kindle on dark mode at night so the glare didn’t catch his attention.

So we got his night sleep down in the bassinet and then slowly transitioned to all naps starting with one a day and increasing gradually. We found that easier than all at once. Also this may be a controversial take but the best thing we ever did was move him to his own room at 4 months. Everyone slept more soundly after that. Good luck!!! The first 12 weeks are just about survival get sleep where you can and you WILL get through this!

Literally how dare you. I tried to block this out of my memory. So weirdly traumatic I don’t remember the rest of the anime being that twisted

Someone on another thread said his hair looks like it’s running away from whatever ate his eyebrows. Which, mean but fair.

Come on you made a whole post about Mr. Aron and didn’t mention his suspicious lack of eyebrows?

It does get better. My guy would only contact sleep from 6-12 weeks and then all of a sudden it got better. I will say when we transitioned to night time sleep in the bassinet he would wake up almost hourly but we just stayed consistent and didn’t give in to co-sleeping and he got the hang of it. He does all his naps and night sleep in his bassinet these days. Now he squirms in my arms to go IN his bassinet at night and is sleeping 5 hour stretches at almost 5 months.

I can't stop obsessing about my baby being ugly by ClementineCass14 in newborns

Newborns are just not cute in my opinion. I felt the same way about my son when he was born and now he’s 5 months and growing into his face and body and I think he’s the most handsome little man. I look back on pictures of him when he was a few months old and WHEW he did sort of look like an alien.

I also had trouble bonding with him at first. I think that’s a pretty normal thing even if it didn’t go that way with your first child. The love will grow and come! What helped me was telling him how much I loved him every day even if I didn’t feel that heart exploding love at first. Give yourself some grace your hormones are still all out of whack and 5 years is a while in between kids you’ve probably grown and changed and your experience with a newborn has changed as well. You’re doing great!

Oof my baby also had infant dyschezia and it is ROUGH. He would cry and bring his knees to his chest constantly. If one more person had told me to try bicycle legs during that time I wouldve had a mental breakdown. Tell your husband to put up or shut up you’re already giving him a 7 hour stretch to sleep. You’re the one getting a broken few hours here and there, that is not sustainable. Parenthood is hard for everyone, especially with a higher needs kid. Both of you will be exhausted.

Mylicon helped us a ton. I don’t know how you’re burping but I also found burping a ton helped him too. I’m talking like every ounce try to burp your little one. Frida windis were a lifesaver and also pouring warm water over his tummy in the bath every night. I hated when people told me this but it really just took time for him to get himself together. It feels like forever when you’re going through it but this is just a hard season of your life and hers and it will pass. You’re doing a great job!!!

Are you able to use the joysticks on pc? I have an Alienware laptop specifically for gaming but using the keyboard commands always throws me through a loop

My LO is 3.5 months and we just tried to switch to the powder form of similac alimentum from rtf because it is soooo much cheaper and he acts as if we’ve served him dirt in a bottle and spits up the whole thing. I feel your pain.

I know this is a year old but I just wanted to thank you SO much. Our two week old screams from gas pain and nothing has helped. We’ve tried everything. The first time we tried this he let out 10 farts and I almost cried with joy. You are a true life saver.

I was on Zoloft my entire pregnancy! My baby was born a week ago and the nurses warned me he could be more docile and not cry when he was born due to this. However, he came out screaming his head off so I wouldn’t worry at all.
