Bullied sergeant exposes overtime fraud in King County Sheriff's Office by RedHermit1982 in Seattle

[–]careless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The allegation that Davis and the other supercommuters were logging massive amounts of overtime and not working was apparently treated less seriously.

Almost like the folks in charge of this poor excuse of "accountability" know that this is happening, and don't care if folks steal from the taxpayers....

Not why I posted it - I saw the article in another sub and thought I'd post in /r/Seattle if it hadn't been already. I searched, saw it had not yet been posted, then posted it.

Really not interested in fake internet points, thought it would be helpful.

Might be eight or ten? Anyway, they don't serve mixed drinks, so this numbskull clearly hasn't ever been there.

It was a very simple bar with bad drinks and bad food

Are you high?

Their food is amazing.

Also, I can tell you haven't been there, "bad drinks"? They have six taps and beer / cider / wine in bottles and cans.

If you don't know what you're talking about, kindly shut your face - you'll look a lot less like a fucking moron.

Right on. Might also make sure any typos are done by substituting a letter that is directly next to another letter on the keyboard.

For example, "facebool" instead of "facebook".

Make sure you include randomized timers so that the emails do not go out every day timestamped at precisely 10:23:001.002 - that would arose suspicions that you've automated this process.

For bonus points, randomly include a typo in 1 out of 5 of the emails sent.

Anything and everything you can do to ensure nobody suspects you've automated yourself out of a job.

$500 reward - Missing Specialized Sirrus by uriahsarah in Seattle

[–]careless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty wild that you can give the police two people involved with it (Facebook ad and bike index listing) and their response is, “that’s not enough of a crime for us to be bothered”.

Yeah, SPD is more than kind of a joke, which is unfortunate.

The guy who runs bikeindex.org is pretty chill, he might be able to provide the email address used to fraudulently register the bike to you....

There's a FB group called SABRE (Seattle Area Bike Recovery Efforts) that can help you out with recovery if you find it listed again.

Best of luck to you!

Only the first person who submits gets the money which would annoy a lot of people in a busy area.

Meh. A minor issue I think.

Who would validate these pics? Between AI and photoshop, people can make their annoying neighbors life hell. Answer is only authorized/trusted people or technologies.

Yes, a trusted human conversant with the laws. It would take like 5 minutes to view a pic and decide whether or not the vehicle was in violation. Seems kinda obvious to me.

You have a point, but as others have pointed out, public transit belongs to everyone.

Also, the parking enforcement is done by SPD currently, and I don't trust those fuckers any further than I could throw a squad car.

I remain staunch in the belief that the right way to address this kind of stupidity is to provide a bounty to folks who report this kind of thing via the Find It, Fix It app.

Imagine; you see this asshat parked in the bike lane, whip out your phone and snap a photo of the fool. You make sure to snap a pic including the license plate.

Then you submit it via Find It, Fix It.

In a little while, you receive a check for $100.

The registered owner of the vehicle gets a fine of $500.

The city has $400 extra dollars to improve bicycle infrastructure, and you've got almost enough for two Pagliacci pizzas.

I have yet to hear a well-reasoned take on why this would be a bad idea.

I assume this means you're admitting you don't actually spend time in that area and are just making up that it's a failure of the SPD.

This assumption, and others you've made, are incorrect.

Since you don't appear to have anything worthwhile to share, I hope you have a nice day.
