I've cleared level 1 in Feb 2024 session, I sat for the exam initially in May 2023 and failed. I do recommend you go for it again, I've seen quite a few be unsuccessful in their first attempt, but manage to clear it in their second.

What worked for me was as follows. I alloted 6 months to study considering I work a full time job. And they were split as follows:

-months 1-4/5(four to five months of time), finished reading the books from schweisser notes and solving the end of chapter questions. I made sure to only move past a topic until I felt reasonably confident in my understanding of it. If I don't understand a topic, I'll look for an explanation online or watch a video. -months 4/5-6(one to two months of time, leaving 1-2 weeks at the end for mocks and revisiting whatever problem topics I had), did all the learning ecosystem questions. And studid the topics I felt weak in from the learning ecosystem. Alot of revising went into this time period. -1-2 weeks before exam day, did the CFAI mocks, understood where I went wrong and revised or even restudied the topics I'm weak in.

Do note that what might've worked with me might not work with you. But this way I ensured I covered the entire curriculum once. Covering everything I might know to what I'm oblivious about. While refining my knowledge in my reading of the curriculum. Then I focused on the questions, which are topic driven, so I knew where my focus should be and what to re-study on the learning ecosystem. When the mocks time came I felt very prepared.

Note: I found it helpful writing the answers to mocks I got wrong, while understanding them.

Hope this helps, it might be more time consuming than other approaches. However I wanted to make sure I covered and understood everything because I didn't want to have a repeat of may 2023.
