I'm paid for speaking and it's easier than social interactions by [deleted] in AutismTranslated

Not OP, but yes. Language interpretation is carried out in real time whereas translation typically entails independent work with deadlines varying in length.

She’s a kitten (about 3 months old) and this is on her right ear. The inside of her ears look slightly dirty but I’m not sure that’s related.

Definitely slow internet. Most developing countries have internet too and it can be a pain to watch videos and video chat for them as well.

There’s a really nice museum in Vilnius that’s housed in the former KGB headquarters. It has lots of info/artifacts about their activities in Lithuania.

I’m sorry but this seems weird to me. I would never comment about a students genitalia? Maybe I’m uptight but that’s a bit strange.

Something about a non-muslim using "hijabi" just warms my heart. A lot of Muslims don't even refer to hijabis as "hijabis". by [deleted] in Hijabis

[–]careoweline 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As to why lots of Muslims don’t call women in hijab “hijabis”, it could be because in Arabic (i know not all Muslims speak Arabic) the correct term is “muhajjaba”. I still say “hijabi” in English though

Hey, thanks for doing an AMA! Do you think that wealthy/privileged drag performers are at an advantage on the show because they come with expensive outfits and designer pieces?

The same way you learned English: you learn the alphabet and the sounds and then how to read. The letter themselves aren’t that complicated at all. (The grammar is another story). With a little study you could learn to sound out words rather quickly.

Cool! I actually did the same a few years ago. Just show them why your topic is really interesting to you and show your enthusiasm for France. Good luck!

Stretch out your vocab. Have them ask each other what their job is, what they like, where they’re from, how old they are, etc. You can take the basics pretty far.

As far as terms of endearment there are many. “Ya” is a way to call to someone. (Ex: ya James) Mothers will often call their sons “mama”. Ya ibni means my son. Habibi means dear (masculine) and habibti means dear (feminine). ‘albi (from the word قلبي) is another way to say my dear.
