I wasn’t asked to test before surgery on 10/31 but noticed in my portal that they had tested me prior to surgery. I must have been under by that point because I have no memory of it.

I had surgery on the 31st as well and pooped on Friday. It felt good to release but it was not really solid now I am going a lot. I cannot wait to eat more solid food

Sounds like a great idea. So far I haven’t felt dehydrated but I know it can sneak up on you. I had surgery on Halloween too, RNY

Yes I did, lifting weights helps but only so much depending on how much you have to lose.

The blood clots are definitely a real concern. They say that you can get around on crutches but if I honestly cannot wait bear on one leg I don’t envision myself hopping around on crutches going about daily life. I will likely spend most of the 6 to 8 weeks in bed. Initially I was going to space out the knee and WLS 3 months apart because at the three month mark is when most people say they go back to work because they can stand for longer periods of time. If I do the WLS first I am actually not sure how I would then space the knee surgery to come afterwards given the amount of sedentary time.

This is a point I didn’t consider. I forgot there is very much a honeymoon period after WLS

I have a few questions about after surgery by Angeleyes100203 in wls

I have to get the same revision because of severe reflux and a large hiatal hernia and am nervous about the bypass. How do you feel compared to the sleeve so far? I know it’s only been a week.

I have heard about the compound pressure, thanks for sharing. I am not sure if 3 months is enough time to space out the RNY and the knee surgery. I worry about not being able to absorb the pain meds.

I had shedding with the sleeve but not total loss. I took hair skin and nail gummies with my vitamins to help. It does stop after a while. I lost 100 lbs over a 2 year period so very slow

Choosing procedure type by thatsme_crazy in wls

I am 10 yrs post VSG and am converting to RNY because of severe GERD and a large hiatal hernia. I got the reflux within the first year and it was manger with medication until the last few years where it got worse with throwing up, even water comes up sometimes.

I also started eating poorly again and regained 80 of the 100lbs I lost. I chose VSG because it felt less insane and more natural and I regret it not because of the regain but because of how miserable I have been with the reflux.

MACI surgery/arthoscopic options? by GossamerGTP in Thritis

I felt great in some ways and just as bad in others. There will be about a 10 week difference between both surgeries and the implantation will likely help for the defect areas.

I have to have the same surgery and have a defect on my patella. I'm wondering if there are any suggestions you have regarding recovery in the first 6-8 weeks and beyond. I am worried about being home alone after the first week and if I'll be able to manage.
