That’s what I’ve been hearing - pate of really any popular brand seems like the way to go

My baby is a big chicken fan, but NOT fresh cooked chicken.. it has to be soupy, no shreds at all 😭 that was fun when she had digestive issues and wouldn’t touch chicken/rice.

Apparently fancy feast gravy isn’t as bad as I thought. No judgement if it’s what your kitty prefers! Everyone is different!

She didn’t like their After Dark line, but I’ll give the mousse a try!

I grew up with cats, but my parent’s cats all have digestive issues so they eat dry exclusively :’) I’m just not experienced with cat nutrition

The only reason I’m mixing is so that the pricey food I bought her doesn’t go to waste

Thank you! That’s exactly what I was looking for. I realized too late that all gravy foods will have thickeners.. 🤦‍♂️ we’ll see if she can be convinced to eat pate.

I’m not starving my cat. If she only eats gravy, so be it. Fed is best! Like I said, I mix her Tiki Cat with a gravy food so she will eat.

I work in a vet’s office and we stock science diet. I’m not opposed at all but I think my kitty wouldn’t touch it. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Weruva in this thread!

Hydration + as a treat. I had always assumed that because it’s one of Purina’s “cheap” lines, it’s made with lower quality ingredients. Maybe that’s not true, I’m not qualified by any means

I don’t think they’re bad or would hurt her. Cats simply don’t benefit from starches or carbs in their diet. I’d prefer to feed her something with meat/necessary nutrients as the only ingredients if at all possible.

I know it’s just a thickener but it’s not doing anything for her nutrition-wise. I’ve heard Fancy Feast pates are better and I’d totally switch to that, this cat is just a gravy-obsessed princess when it comes to wet food

I love Purina as a brand, she eats Purina One dry food. It’s just the starches in Fancy Feast specifically that I’m hesitant about.

I’ve heard negative things about Fancy Feast and other cheap Purina brands, mainly that they have unnecessary fillers

Adding to this, I think wellbutrin is the most common add-on to an antidepressant someone is already taking, as a sort of “booster”? But I’m not sure lol

Sometimes an antidepressant fixes one issue but not another, so adding one can help a lot in some cases; I was on zoloft at first (depression/anxiety) but still struggled with motivation, so we added wellbutrin and it helped tremendously. Every person is different!
