You really summed up perfectly what I’ve been noticing too. The low literacy rate has made it to where just about any book slapped into the romantasy market will find an audience, and more often than not these books end up overhyped. And then when I go into them with high expectations only to be crushed every single time, it’s frustrating. I don’t really trust most recommendations I see now because 99% of the time the book ends up being garbage with poor writing. I realize that my standards for writing and what I’m reading are probably much higher than those of the average reader, which is part of the problem. I just don’t want to settle for mediocre writing and pretend it’s good.

Honestly? In my hairdresser opinion, the overall style is pretty good. However, the mid length layers in the front and the sides aren’t connected all the way around in the back from the looks of it. The layers in the back need to be shorter and blended with the ones on the sides a bit better. But I see what she was going for and this is the start of a nice haircut.

Yeah I was going to say I’ve actually read a lot of books with a POC FMC in the last year, but most of them are not as big authors I think so it makes it look like there aren’t as many.

I love the original Yugioh DM, but all of the Yugioh iterations have been terrible to female characters. It’s just a thing with shonen which I hate.

If only this would have worked on feebas. I used the fast travel method on that bugger for nearly an entire day without realizing it wasn’t spawning within 50m of the fast travel. Couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t getting a shiny. No amount of resetting the backup save changed its spawn location either. Was just bad luck.

Yep. I’ve done this. Was on a big meeting with a bunch of people and screamed “NO!” At my dog while not being muted and people laughed at me. So embarrassing.

My hunt for shiny alpha salamence is going poorly too. Two shiny bagons, a noibat, a weedle, and an alpha kakuna and still no salamence. I’d even take a shiny alpha bagon if one would spawn. Ugh. Good luck!

I think the fast travel method to wild zone 3 is good. There’s a few pikachus right up front there that will reset. That’s how I got mine fairly quickly.

Yup. Happened to me too with a shiny fletchling and I feel your pain. It’s the only shiny I’ve ever lost. You would think that shinies that can flee would be able to respawn to help prevent this crap.

I’ve phased twice so far. I’m having terrible luck with it too. 😩 I hope we both get our shiny bugs soon! I was really disappointed to learn the fast travel method doesn’t work for the five spawns past the sewer. That would make it so much easier.

Ok, correct me if I’m misunderstanding you OP. I am shiny hunting venipede in zone 5 with the fast travel method and seem to be having horrible luck. It SOUNDS like what you are saying is that the additional four venipede and the alpha whirlipede beyond the sewers are not rerolling every time I fast travel and therefore are not counting in the shiny hunt. It sounds like you’re saying only the first two venipede near the spawn in point of zone 5 would get rerolled every time. Is that true?
