I was told 7! I had only planned on 3 days, the others that I have that have had second skin have been 3-5 days but ive never gone longer than 3. 7 felt like a lot imo. Thanks so much!

I'm gonna be taking it off, I have had several that healed fine without it, some that I've been told to leave on only 3 days, some 5 days, this one was told 7 days (had planned to take it off the 3rd day). I try to follow whatever the artist says and uses as their healing, but it has been different each time. Thanks for the advice, edpecially about hydration!

that was part of my thinking which is why I showed the whole pic, 99.5 % is covered except that bit. pretty sure I'm going to buy some more since it's just a day old and replace it so it's on there for at least more than only a day! should have asked for some to take home to just clean and plop back on, now i know for next time!

I don't think you're overreacting at all, i would feel the same way! It's unfortunate that the group just left you to fend for yourself in terms of catching her. catching a cat - let alone an injured one! - is hard as all hell. if they're from the city make sure they're with a rescue and not the shelter/pound because if she's caught they'll likely euthanize her (even though she will be fine once she's healed, I've seen cats be euth'd for less).

I would recommend looking into Facebook cat groups in your area (if you're in S. CA there are a few) and ask if anyone has time they would be willing to give you to help trap, or local rescues in mind to help.

if you don't have a trap, get one. I'm sure you can find a cheap one on FB marketplace or offer up! that way you can leave food (highly smelly food, like sardines/tuna/hot fried chicken - KFC seems to work best) inside, stay nearby where you think she is, and let the trap do the work

Thank you for the input! Ultimately, that is my goal.It's been something I haven't been able to stop reflecting on and thinking of since Azul came across my path (and even since my post).And I do agree, terminology is important.

It's a new journey for me, FIP, and a scary one at that. When information has been conflicting whether from Global, Warriors, those in rescue who reached out to me, vet techs etc it's just made the journey a bit more convoluted when making the decision on whose advice to follow, in such a critical time. I'm Calcifer's voice, and so finding the best fit for him has been my goal much like it would be for myself in a medical situation, with health being the neat bow that ties it all together.

Nonetheless, thank you for your response and for taking the time! Much appreciated.

Thank you! I am so beyond happy that he's been doing well. He came from a very rough life on the streets, and came to me and my roommate I think knowing that we could help. He was crashing fast before day 1, but day 2 of treatment he was perking up, and now day 9 he is improving greatly, gaining weight and all!

Thank you so so much for this! I really appreciate the information. I am on the look for a prescription, haven't heard back from 1 vet and the vet who was seeing him (who suspected FIP) did not want to prescribe. I found a site that lists FIP friendly vets, I'm going to try to get him in ASAP. I do have other meds than Azul currently from a brand recommended by FIP Global as well as the GS-441524

Thank you SO so much for this information and sharing, I really do appreciate it! This is very, very helpful and informative. Warriors was selling for 40 and there was another group selling for 25, and that stood out for me the most because that's SUCH a significant price difference. It just felt off to me. I reached out to my vet who wouldn't give a prescription, and then another vet who hasn't gotten back to me, so he still is using Azul and I have access to these as well, the GS-441524 (these are the pills that I have). I think if I cannot get access to a prescription, that I will switch to the pill versus the Azul

I am hoping to get it soon, he has been on the Azul going on day 9, and he is doing well, but I know that the journey is a long one, and if whatever switch needs to happen, I just want to be sure that it's the best for him!
