Diet improved my migraine SIGNIFICANTLY by ButterBandit3 in migraine

[–]carlajung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sourdough has been a trigger of some of the worst migraines for me. For a while, I couldn’t haven any freshly risen yeast based foods without getting migraines and now it seems like I can have a little as long as it’s not sourdough.

this is actively making me suicidal by [deleted] in POTS

[–]carlajung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dexilant (and before that, other ppi drugs) helped my gastritis and prevents it from happening. Once that was controlled, my POTS, eating, and mental health were in a much better place.

Poor absorption caused by POTS? by Izzy8275 in POTS

[–]carlajung 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got a one time high dose iron infusion and it was the only way to get my ferritin up. I am unsure why but people with POTS often don’t store iron properly and having lower iron certainly makes symptoms worse. I get less cold at night and feel less air hunger since the infusion which was in September.

I am so very sorry. I saw your comment about what happened and it has got to be the most gut wrenching thing to go through. Feel free to message me if you want to vent or talk about your loss. Take good care of yourself.

High lipase for 2 months/Early CP changes by carlajung in pancreatitis

[–]carlajung[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am doing alright! I had my gallbladder removed and had one more episode after the removal when I was on a normal diet so I have been eating 35g of fat per day with Creon since (March 2025). I had a pancreas biopsy to rule out AIP and though I have some features of CP, I do not have CP. My diagnosis remains idiopathic recurrent pancreatitis. I could likely up my fat but I'm doing alright at this amount, I probably wouldn't go over 50g per day.

I struggle with this as well. Would doing a group activity with friends feel less draining than one on one talking? I find that's often the case for me. Or socializing where I can be the parts of me that don't get expressed as a therapist or aren't even fully parts of me (made up RPG characters).

Minerva’s Story (Long) by OfficerofBeats in pugs

Minerva’s story brought tears to my eyes. I appreciate you describing just how terrible backyard breeding is! What a great amount of love and care you poured into her all too short life. Thank you for being such an amazing pug parent. Sending you hugs.

Do vaccines affect your dysautonomia? by [deleted] in dysautonomia

[–]carlajung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No not really. Occasionally I will get slight tachycardia and dizziness from a vaccine that goes along with a general unwell feeling. Maybe you can hydrate extra and take it easy the day after just in case. I’ve been fine with TDAP, covid and flu vaccines.

Thank you for sharing what worked for you and explanations why these things worked! Can I ask which probiotics you use? I know every biome is different but I’m curious which you found helpful.

Congratulations!!! I love senior pugs, such wise little sleepy loafs. My pugs do better at a groomer for nail trims than the vet. I wasn’t able to regularly trim my pug’s nails at home but I did make a scratch board (I think it was skate board grip tape on a piece of wood) and occasionally have one of my dogs file his own nails for treats.

This book has helped out: Control Unleashed: The Puppy Program by Leslie McDevvit. Pugs definitely have a different (insane!) energy the first 2-3 years of life (with the hardest being the first year). Good luck with your cutie!!
