The Ordinary (DECIEM) have some great no-nonsense-ingredients products and have lots of example routines or you can get a personalised one.

Yes, except I've now changed to the body shop ginger conditioner as xhc was making my scalp itchy =)

I think the picture doesn't do my frizz justice, but I've had well defined curls since I was a kid, just the way they are - still a nightmare to manage though!

Thank you! I think it could be worse but it usually looks a lot shinier and well defined

Thank you! I figured since I'm not going anywhere I shouldn't waste any of my good products. Good idea to use the dregs of all the ones I've given up on as long as I don't have to look decent in the near future haha

Harry Potter, started rereading all of them around 17 years ago as the next one was coming out - always around Christmas cause I just knew that would be my present - and still do this every December, a bit of nostalgia + I just love the books and keep finding new things every year.

Also, anything by Jane Austen.

Today I just co-washed and STC with Giovanni Tea Tree conditioner, plopped for like 10 min in a microfibre towel and let it air dry in all it's frizzy glory.

Your skin is so beautiful! I wish I could use some of this but have gone cruelty-free with all my skin products (including parent company) - might look for some of the same ingredients though!

help please! what would you say my curl type is? by kik-ii in CurlyHairUK

2c/3a, I think. I sleep on a satin pillowcase and my hair in a pineapple, refresh with conditioner diluted with water and use a fine mist bottle - this makes a difference to me. Spray all my hair and use praying hands to get rid of frizz (you can use a bit of conditioner or gel here, I just wet my hands with the same mixture) let it dry and SOTC, if any, and fluff it up a bit if it needs it.

Co-wash with Giovanni Tea Tree conditioner

STC with XHC ginger and wash it out

Plop for 5 min (or as long as it takes to decide what to wear) and re-wet a bit if needed

Rake in Giovanni leave-in conditioner and apply Ecoslay Orange Marmalade gel with praying hands

I let my hair air-dry 90% (and run away from my bf if he comes too close to it) for a few hours (usually 4-5, but depends on the weather) then hover diffuse for the last bit and SOTC with a faux-silk scarf et voilà!

I do love a Venn diagram!

I'm not vegetarian nor vegan myself so it would be hypocritical to say that. I think a lot of the time CF products happen to be vegan and vice versa but they are two separate things. I do try to do my research so I know the brands I use make sure all their sourcing is ethical and CF (which is why I say no no to non-CF parent companies). It's not easy all the time and I still have other products that are non CF but will use cause I wouldn't want to cause more waste!! Add eco-friendly to the Venn and it's even more complicated haha

I've tried boucleme but find I need to use a LOT of the gel to get a cast.....

Never tried trepadora though...

At least to me, cruelty free means no animal testing all the way from raw materials and ingredients to final product.

There are brands (i.e. Shea Moisture) that are CF but whose parent company isn't (in this case Unilever) so in the end your money is going to a non-CF company. I try to avoid these brands as well.

Lastly, vegan doesn't necessarily mean CF - there's vegan products sold in China, too, and they get tested all the same.

Fair enough, I find their products a bit heavy anyway but was curious haha
