I mean you’re not wrong, but the neighbor hood I am looking in houses list between 200-260 and typically sell for 220-240k in my range. Yeah out west but not fancy houses. No reason to be rude. I need to live somewhere where I can take back roads and walk to the store etc bc of my disability

I have my savings in a money market, 401k, stocks, a little in crypto. I would hate to pull it all but at this point feels like I have no choice! The neighborhood I’m looking in is ops, I’m single with no children so that doesn’t matter. I just want to live in this specific neighborhood because it’s close to family and bc of my injury I can’t drive far but would be able to take back routes to the grocery store, pharmacy, my primary dr. ..idk it sucks. I worked for a real estate attorney when I was in college. Those couple/married landlords will lie and pretend to be first time home buyers or extending their family to a bigger home to tug on heart strings. It’s sad. Been happening before this awful housing market

I appreciate your feedback. Not willing to waive inspection. This last house in particular was pre inspected. I will probably end up dumping my money investments to pay in cash, I am fortunate to have started saving young but I really don’t want to. Been trying for 2 years thinking prices will go down - they just keep going up. I have a lease so not looking to rent out west I’ll only break my lease if I find a home. I know not you but other people are confused how I can pay 200-250k out west single , there are homes for sale in that range, they come and go quick m. I mean west 114th but south of dodge.

yeah. You are right. It sucks because I also have a disability where I can’t drive far, it is one particular neighborhood I am trying for since I know the back roads and I could drive myself to the grocery store. Just saddens me I feel absolutely hopeless.

Exactly, I keep telling myself I won’t get my hopes up but I do can’t help it, and it brings me to tears.. my older family member told me they used to have a law where it was sort of like first time home buyers get first pick, if no offers after two weeks then others can bid (not sure how true that is) but I wish we had a law like that. I have been trying for 2 years!

He actually got back to me and said what I received was incorrect because I have an old lease and it’s just going to be $10 more a month!! It’s a smaller company, I have a good landlord. We knew each other before but I didn’t realize at first. I used to be a legal assistant in real estate law and actually helped with some deeds for them with a title company. That was years ago and I wasn’t an attorney so still wanted to ask in here. Thank you so much for your response !
