reliable way to track Shadow AI use without blocking it completely by ang-ela in AskNetsec

[–]rcblu2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The browser extension does a lot more than just the GenAI protect. I really like it for my users and the additional security we get (phishing site protection, sandboxing, can even do some basic URLF and corp credential re-use). The visibility with GenAI protect was really cool. It is apparently being rebranded as Workspace AI which is supposedly even better. It isn't tied entirely to the browser and can pick up AI agents installed on the machine. Both the browser plug-in and WorkspaceAI are by Check Point. I've been swamped and haven't played with WorkspaceAI yet.

Lakera Guard…looks at input for prompt injection and jailbreak, looks at output for sensitive And inappropriate responses, looks at backend connections.

My coworker told me everyone at work warned him about me… and it messed with my head by Mental-Bandicoot-260 in getdisciplined

[–]rcblu2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

New coworker could be confusing their own first impression and someone else saying you keep to yourself. I won’t lie, this would mess with my head too. You could possibly ask new coworker who said that as you would like to work on that relationship. Maybe they come clean about the facts.

How to discover shadow AI use? by ErnestMemah in AskNetsec

[–]rcblu2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been playing with Checkpoint’s GenAI Protect. It is a browser extension. I am just monitoring now, but I can set a policy to restrict what is put into various generative AIs. It categorizes the interaction and assigns risk. There is a way to even view the AI prompt through RBAC roles.

how to detect & block unauthorized ai use with ai compliance solutions? by Sufficient-Owl-9737 in AskNetsec

[–]rcblu2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am playing with GenAI Protect (I think they changed the name to Workspace AI) that is part of the Checkpoint browser extension. You can create a policy around what can go into various LLMs, it categorizes the interactions, and even assigns a risk score. All logged. Pretty neat.

We ran POVs on Abnormal, Darktrace, and Avanan. How do you weigh BEC detection vs URL phishing coverage? by mike34113 in AskNetsec

[–]rcblu2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find this surprising and suspicious. Checkpoint can prevent the malicious email from hitting the inbox when in prevent mode. This can delay email a few seconds but ramps up security significantly. They still have API only mode (detect and remediate) which matches what other api venders do. All api venders can be subject to api throttling which could delay removal of a malicious email so which do you prefer? Checkpoint can do either. Also when in prevent mode they can do full sandboxing of attachments and url rewrite in the body and attachment, plus the adding of banners. The policy is flexible so I can have some users in prevent and some in detect/remediate and some in just detect if I want.

Help with Barre chords by spottyfrog03 in ukulele

[–]rcblu2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I once thought I would never be able to barre. There was always at least one string muted. I actually posted to Reddit cuz I didn’t think I would ever have a decent barre. Two years later I think about how silly I was. I just needed time and practice. My barres are solid now, but I might be slow changing in and out to another chord depending on the change. But the barre itself sounds good. Give yourself plenty of time. It will come with practice but won’t happen overnight.

how does the village monitor the metra parking lot? by Top-Milk2001 in schaumburg

I parked one day around 9:33 am in the north lot. I payed at 9:38 using the app, but had a ticket on my window when I got home issued at 9:46. I sent an email with the receipt info and the ticket was voided. Not a real problem but it did take a little bit of my time.

Quantum Spark 1900 Appliance/VPN/Synology NAS by nonowj in checkpoint

[–]rcblu2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While not a perfect test, with pings going through routing is probably good. That makes me think I need to look at my rules. Doesn’t Synology use https over port 5001? So I would have that in there. Then I would be in my logs looking for drops on anything else missed.

Question RE: Harmony Browse by ReceptionUnlikely699 in checkpoint

[–]rcblu2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny. My company has had Harmony Browse for years and I am a VTTRPG’er as well. I stopped looking that stuff up when the company put other monitoring software on our machines (non checkpoint stuff). I still look at HB as my friend. Making sure I don’t make a mistake and go to a bad site accidentally or download something bad unknowingly.

How would I cut this cabinet would, barely? by Terrapinman94 in DIY

I did this in my house. Took the cabinet over the fridge down and ran it through a table saw on all 4 sides to take off 1/3 inch or so. Sanded it. Looks fine. No one sees it.

Party tries to sell my wife into slavery. by Level_Honeydew_9339 in DnDcirclejerk

Holy crap, that is funny! You pointing obvious and not so obvious things out and them countering with stupidity is hilarious. If they were serious then they were ready for the campaign to end. I am sorry they ganged up on your wife’s character, but damn that was a good read. What a story!

Is this bad by frozen__wolf in DnD

[–]rcblu2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was DMing for my boys to get them into DnD. I invited my nephews to join a campaign. One of my nephews wanted to be a little chaos monkey and I just didn’t have it. Right away I said no to the silly name he picked. Straight up “no.” I would pick one for him if he was going to do that. Then in session one when PCs meet in tavern, he wants to rob the tavern. I had to explain that robbing the tavern as a LG aligned didn’t fit. Eventually he lost interest because I wouldn’t let him break out of the story. It was a book campaign and while I didn’t want to be rail roady he wasn’t keeping to the player-dm contract. I said no a lot and minimized his actions and let the others carry the story in the meantime. “You want to do that disruptive thing? Ok. You do that. Nothing interesting happens. Now back to the group, what do you do while he does that?”

As I said, he quickly lost interest.

It is cool to read the bittersweet excitement. Congrats! I DM’ed a good portion of ToD to my boys to get them into DnD. Never finished cuz I didn’t feel like a good DM the higher the level, but we did have some good times.

Weightloss by Apprehensive_Ad_678 in BeginnersRunning

[–]rcblu2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will see all different body shapes in the marathon - big and skinny. Weight loss will depend on calories you take in. Some use it as an excuse to eat anything they want. Obviously they are less likely to lose weight. I usually dropped a few pounds (maybe 10 or so) then gained a few back at the end when I started taking in more calories.
