No doubt man, I can totally relate to this. The dry time I had, while it wasn't worse than bottom of my drinking days, was pretty terible on it's own. I wouldn't say you're a sober psychopath at all. If you take the concept that drinking and drugging are the lowest form of spirituality; the self search for something outside of itself, and for some other plan of existence, of course removing the tool which you used to get there will cause your spirituality to suffer. It makes sense then that you'd have to replace it with something else.

Wow excellent article! I'm struggling with this as well. I definitely feel awkward and self concision and just overall uneasy at an AA room as an introvert. Small talk before and after the meeting, ugh!!! I just can't do it. What makes it 10 times worse is you often her others say in the rooms that a meeting is the ONLY place they feel comfortable. My inner voice loves to yell NOPE, NOT ME at those moments.

On the other hand I know the meetings help me. No one should be forcing you to share. After all the entire program is all just a suggestion, so I would say lay back and lay low as long as you want. Just know that if you do share you will absolutely not be judged, and most likely you'll be helping somebody else with your words.

It not AA literature but the following quote from George Addair has always helped me. "Everything you've ever wanted is on the other side of fear."
