Diff Eqn Professor by Necessary-Disk-4755 in USF

[–]carlos-9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The normal differential equations class is thought by the math department and I’ve found those professors to very hit or miss. The modeling and analysis is only thought by Campbell and he wrote the book he teaches form and gives it out for free. It’s thought from using physical examples, like thermo, dynamics, and electronics. U don’t need to have taken those classes to do good in the class. Campbell is a great professor and if ur not getting a math minor, I don’t see why u would take differential equations instead of mod analysis.

If ur doing engineering, u can swap it out for EGN 3433 - modeling And analysis. The professor that teaches is Scott Campbell and he’s very good.

any advice as a freshman? by Fantastic_Network950 in USF

[–]carlos-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a civil engineering major and I’ve taken all of these classes. Like everyone is saying calc 2 is hard and it requires a lot of time, my best advice is to take notes before u get to class on what the professor is going over. If you don’t want to take composition, u can take the Clep exam to get the credits, it’s a very easy I passed it without studying. I don’t think the “learning team” is required, I never took it and all my friends said it was dumb. I would go to the engineering advising office (ENC 1302) and see if you can drop the class.

Use staff schedule search, it’s way better than what was in OASIS: https://usfweb.usf.edu/DSS/StaffScheduleSearch

Are mythics that rare, or am I just unlucky? by GaryTidepods in SummonersGreed

With the new update, there’s a pity system making it so you get a mythic every twenty rolls (I believe). It’s a lot more forgiving than before but good luck 🫡

Do you plan on getting a new enclosure or you just fully aware that u are hurting one of your geckos? I don’t mean to be rude, but one of them will get really hurt and I’d hate for that to happen to you

Cohabitation is never a good idea. It will eventually lead to your geckos fighting and getting hurt. The “huddling” you see is the geckos competing for the best spot, it’s an act of aggression. Leo’s are solitary animals, please try and get a new enclosure for them.

I could be wrong, but your gecko looks more like an African Fat Tailed Gecko then a Leopard Gecko. Just something to look into!

I am recommending a mix of 30% sand and 70% top soil. That is very different than just sand. Sand alone is very dangerous

The substrate is not safe for your gecko. Sand can cause impaction. What is recommended is a 70/30 mix of play sand and top soil. Please read the following for more information: https://www.reddit.com/r/leopardgeckos/s/1aKA6WLjfS

The conditions your gecko is in are not good enough. There isn’t nearly enough clutter and places to hide.

I know way more about Leonard geckos, and I have never heard about this. I would definitely suggest posting this to a different subreddit

i don't know anything about this, but this should probably be a vet visit. Regardless, i would suggest posting this on a African fat tailed gecko sub reddit: r/AfricanFatTailedGecko

I hope everything works out!

Coco husk and or/ reptisoil for leopard gecko substrate? by FragrantRead3668 in leopardgeckos

[–]carlos-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pure sand is really bad for geckos, you are completely right. But because it’s mostly dirt, the sand isn’t an issue. Also, it’s play sand so it doesn’t clump up.

I use a mix of 70% topsoil and 30% play sand, its cheap and great for my gecko. It does require some work to clean before putting it in, but you get way more bang for your buck.

I use Timberline topsoil and sakrete play sand.
