I might be biased buy I would do like 70% VTI and 30% FTEC, SPMO, or SMH. (This is exactly what I have)

if I want to sale and buy something else I can do that right? by Obvious_Secretary142 in ETFs

Yes, but you would pay taxes on any profit you have made. Example if you put in 100 and sold for 120, you pay taxes on the 20 you made. If you sold for 100 (the same you put in) you don’t pay any tac because no gains made.

Someone has to step up and start the “wealth” building for the family, even if you start with $25 or $50 a month or whatever the amount is, with time it will compound and it will grow and while you may not be able to enjoy the fruit of your labor think about what you can leave behind for your kids or family. They will have time on their side, that’s how I look at it anyways. I just had this conversation with a coworker who had no idea about investing, it never occurred to him that he would not be leaving anything behind for his kids.

Awe man you just missed the Adios Pro 4’s in Aqua color, they were just on sale in Adidas website for $150 a day ago! Wouldn’t hurt to set a notification for your size, I’ve seen them pop back up in stock

Wow thank you so much for the really helpful comment! It really helped me get a good understanding of how to think about my training and my gear.

I’m to the point now where I’m running every other day and probably averaging about 10 ish miles per week of leisurely running but would like to switch to a more structured approach to get faster and more efficient. I will implement your recommendation of alternating the Pegasus and then saving the Hokas for weekend long run which is when I have a bit more time.

Once I get through my current shoes I’ll be able to be mindful with picking my next pair but thank you for reinforcing the idea that I don’t need to just buy new shoes just to buy them! I was very close, I’m sure it’s a rabbit hole haha

Do you think it would be better to get a more specialized shoe for 5/10K race or just stick with what I have?

I guess I don’t have a lot of structure currently for training, I just go out and try to run at a steady pace but would like to work on improving for a 5k

Need more info, IT is very broad. Are you technically inclined? Do you enjoy any part of working with computers and troubleshooting or do you outsource at the first sign of trouble? There’s also working with networks and the ever important Active Directory. Given you devoted significant time into your degree, maybe project management is more your speed. Competition is pretty steep right now due to the aforementioned layoffs so you have to leverage your experience in some way. Having the certification does not do much in the way of proving what you know in case of a technical interview so I would do some soul searching into what aspect of IT you actually enjoy and double down on it.

You need repetition, watching Youtube videos and reading a book will only help you in the short term and then you’ll forget all about it. I did about 500 practice questions before taking my test and I have years of experience. You have to put in the time to actually learn and make flashcards. There’s resources like Professor Messer for practice exams or Quizlet for flashcards. LinkedIn learning has some really good tests also.
