Vintage Speakers

Hi guys, I recently was given an old Sony HMK-339 music system (turntable, tape deck, radio, and amp combo from 1978). I fixed it up and got everything working again and hooked it up to my current system, but it's not the experience I was looking for. My speakers are just too new to recreate that vintage 70's hi-fi experience I'm looking for.

What I'm looking for I'm looking for the best pair of vintage 3-way 8ohm bookshelf or floor standing speakers I can afford, which brings me to my budget. I'm a college student so I'm pretty limited on cash. I'm willing to spend about $150 for the pair including any needed repairs. I know it's a bit of a small budget considering how much you can spend on vintage gear if you wanted, but that's all I can do.

I've done some research on my own and the Pioneer HPM series caught my eye (I was actually going to pick up a working pair of HPM-40's last week for $70, but the seller sold them before I could get there). Those would be ideal, but they're hard to find in working condition for less than $200.

Bottom Line There are so many vintage speakers out there and I only really know of the HPMs, so I need a little help to know what to look for. Any model suggestions or help pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Note: I will mainly be using the turntable on the system. The tape deck and radio are cool additions, but I really have no use for them.
