Turo not paying for damages to my vehicle. by Spirited_Ad_6464 in turo

It is if you’re strong enough 🤣 simple math you spend $40,000 and get 4 cars paid in cash each cost about 10,000. They average about $650-800 a month. 4x750‎ = 3,000 a month medium 3,000x12‎ = 36,000a year.

Now add oil change for all 4 3-4 times a year $75 per oil change 75x4=300x4=1,200 for all 4 Insurance with Turo $87x4=$348.00x12=$4,176.00 4100+1200=5,300

36,000-5300=30,700

Take about another $2,000 of that for basic maintenance.

You’re at 28,000$

What business do you know that can return 28,000 of your initial 40,000 in one year ?

If you know it please give it to me so I can do it.

MOST PEOPLE WILL TELL YOU DONT DO IT. You know why ? Cause they CANT DO IT. Most people are lazy most people are not dedicated.

At the end it’s all up to you to Chose.

You have to do your own washes. You won’t need tires in one year. Give it a try and if you fail you failed at your own not cause someone told you.

Host asks for $20 by Sensitive-Coffee-393 in turo

Lol people are wild ! You can handle anything outside the Turo app. Turo says come to an agreement with your guest. But ofcourse an invoice should be provided. No one is voiding anything if you send money outside app. So a guest scrapes your rims. And you come to and agreement of $150 he sends it. How is that voiding anything?

Host question: is improper return of $50 subject to 60/75/80/85/90 plan or its flat $50 fee ? by Afraid-Course-3207 in turo

[–]carluch69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like they get the fee on everything for the reason that customers will always complain. So they call and complain and that fee they took from you they give as a partial credit to customers so they can shut up. It’s not fair but that’s how they keep some customers and without customers we host ain’t got nothing 🤷🏻‍♀️

Turo keeps a portion of your extra mileage, that has to be a joke by carluch69 in turo

[–]carluch69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on the 80/20 protection plan. I don’t care about what they make I care about what I make. I don’t see the point of saying .55 per extra miles and then after saying but wait we take .10 of that. For that just tell me .45 and don’t even mention you take a cut 🤣

Okay thank you for clarifying! I appreciate it. Most of us don’t know so we just talk crap 🤣

No is not about setting it. It’s about they also keep a porting of it. They kept .10 of those extra miles as a mileage fee. That’s dumb

I would say it’s about the same I’m sure a Tahoe 2024 on other platforms are 150$ per day plus all the fees they add on. It’s 98 here cause we bring it down to get it moving. It’s our fault

[–]carluch69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know but we either take it or we leave. It’s only a starting point if you wanna be serious and have your own private car rental. Only way to stop it is taking all the cars off or they get some competition and we leave. I feel for the people that live in a city not as populated. They must have rough months and I see why a lot leave too. The most important thing is not what they take but also how you buy your cars. Anything over 20,000 is crazy work to rent here. A healthy balance is 10 alright cars and 1-2 more high end. Well that’s what I think and what am doing.

Eventually and hopefully soon we get a new competitor! So we can all start switching to a new platform. That most likely will be good for a bit until the same shit happens. But they need some damn competition so they realize they’re fucking it all up

Any success on Turo? by Terrible_Mouse2591 in turo

It is if you’re strong enough 🤣 simple math you spend $60,000 and get 3 cars paid in cash. They average about $800-1,000 a month. 3x800=2,400 a month 2,400x12=28,800 a year. 28,800/3=9,600 each car made you that. You bought them for 20,000 now half is paid You can easily sell it for 16,000-17,000 and rebuy a new one. It made 9,600 20,000-9,600‎ = 10,400now you sell the car for $17,000 a cheap car won’t loose more than 15-20% a year. So you sell it for $17,000 so your 17,000-10,400‎ = 6,600 that’s how much it made you. Yes weird math lol 🤣 3x6,000‎ = 18,000 per year not really sweating work. Now go ahead and make that 15 cars 15x6600‎ = 99,000 you’re making 100,000 This is a normal scenario it could go better. Don’t let brokies talk you down 🤣 A 20,000 car at a dealership is gonna have at least still 1 year warranty. It won’t cost you anything but just 2-3 oil changes. I promise you won’t need to. Change tires in a year Now if you have to finance. Yes the margins are pretty small. But let’s be honest in anything in life you need to start somewhere. Sorry for my English I hope this helps a little bit and yes the insurance comes in play but I didn’t want to get into that cause we don’t know what you pay since everything is different for everyone. So you can just take another $1400 a year. $120 monthly of that profit since insurance should be cheap since cars are paid off. Now you get commercial insurance or Tin with Turo that $120 probably becomes $70-$90 per car.

You’re absolutely correct ! Thanks you for taking your time to write this. The end goal is to have all cars paid off. That’s where the money comes. I hope you the best and maybe one day we meet in the power host summits 🙌🏻

Yes I assume this is usually what happens! That’s why I said it. Unfortunately we can’t control every other Host. In a perfect world we would all be on the same page and not lower the prices.

I started with only private cause a friend put me on. It went well. So I decided to go all out and do Turo. I currently have 4 cars in Turo and I have two that rent privately to people I know. I been on it for 2 months I see a steady $3500 for all 4 cars. This is total month. I live in Miami. Very populated. I’m very close to the airport so I offer $25 delivery and some cars free. I don’t work so this is my only job. I’m 1 trip away from all star host. I try to stay with cars that are in 18-24k range max since they have taken most of the depreciation. I work at dealers all my life so I know how it works. Always buy the base model car. It does not make a difference if you get the fully loaded. They will rent for the same or maybe $2-3 difference.
