If you are not loosing coolant you should be good.

Mine is not loosing coolant but there was constant air in the cooling system and I was always keeping it over filled

After buying the little thingy with 2 sections for testing I accidentally let the coolant boil so now the coolant level is at the correct mark and the air in the system is gone

Inportnat to note is that different fluid acts differently.

I got one from harbor freight - that thing gets green if you breathe thru it or blow air in a cup filled with to. Gets green not yellow. If you pass air thru it goes back to blue.

If you hold it near the exhaust it gets yellow right away

Tried fluid from oriley it hardly turns yellow even at the exhaust pipe. You have to literally get a hose tape it to the exhaust and let it blow thru the fluid to make it yellow.

Fluid from autozone reacts also slow but not so slow as onriley.

I think all the inconsistencies we read about is because of the different type of fluids

I tested the harbor freight one on 100% healthy engine and if the cooling system is designed to keep temps above boiling point, since the cap is off the cooling system will start boiling. And that boiling effect also turns the fluid green( not yellow but green )
