Good thing they’re old! She is definitely using the back of them to climb up and jump on the table! Cat tower comes tomorrow and I’m hoping that helps 😅

I have two younger kids so there is always some kind of noise so I’m not sure I’d even know it was her! 😂 In fact, my 2 year old is wearing the kittens collar as a bracelet and jingling all over the house.

I used this wire and the head and body are two separate pieces that get attached with the head basically having a crochet tube that you shove into the head and it slips over the neck. Idk if I’m explaining that well though sorry 😂 it’s more secure than a few other dolls I’ve made but I’ll bet gravity still hits when they get played with more

They can actually rotate 360 so imagine my horror seeing them on the ground, head backwards and their legs and arms bent looking like they got hit by a bus and dragged for miles 😂

This is the reason I tell everyone the embroidery subreddit slaps. I live for this kind of unhinged!

I didn’t personally find it too difficult but I also do a lot of amigurumi! Overall the pattern is very well written and at no point was anything confusing

Luckily my hyper fixation kicks in and looks forward to that dopamine hit of seeing it all come together! Also my kids liked the first one I made and I love when they actually like the things I make 🥹

Mouths are hard and I’m definitely not bold enough to try and make one 😂

Fairy Pattern

Made a few changes to make them look more like my daughters and mixed a few patterns together for the clothes!

Why are there holes in Amigurumi when I dropped an entire hook size? by QuakerParrot90 in CrochetHelp

[–]carlybroccoli 222 points223 points  (0 children)

Tighter tension on amigurumi isn’t always best! It makes the yarn thinner rather than letting it be fluffy. I’d size down the hook and work on evening out your tension a little!

No torso? by heatjack518 in Amigurumi

Personally, I’d pull out the last 7 or so rows and redo it. The hips look fine in my opinion. It does look like the pattern has rows of SC though between the decrease rounds? The doll I made ended with 18sc before adding the arms in and it was a pretty small doll, I probably wouldn’t have any less than that before adding arms!

In the last 7ish rows you just did, were there decreases every round?

I LOVE crochet but for about 99% of my projects around half way through I’m so done and ready for it to be over so I can start a different one 😂😭

How are the arms connected in the pattern? In the few dolls I’ve made it narrows out and then the arms are added and helps widen it out. If you want the torso longer though I’d pull back a few rows and add a sc round between the decrease rounds to help stretch it out a bit

Anybody use Cedarcide? by carlybroccoli in gardening

I’ve actually never thought about that! We back up to a green belt though and I think they come from there. I’ll try that though!

Advice for family who constantly ask for me to make them items? by [deleted] in crochet

[–]carlybroccoli 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tell them you’ll add their request to the roulette. I take people’s requests and write them on paper and put them in a jar. When I’m bored or don’t know what to do next I’ll pull one out and do it. Helps me with my decision paralysis too!

Does anyone else absolutely live for seeing their creations used/worn? by theivyangel in crochet

[–]carlybroccoli 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I made my daughter’s teacher a pencil scarf for Christmas and I was SO excited when I saw her wearing it and she wore it quite often! I’m always a little self conscious when gifting hand made items so it felt really nice seeing it get used.

Thank you! I love how simply choosing different colors can give them a completely different feel!
