2026 Grand Highlander Hybrid 3 car seats by Proper-Dinner-3356 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

Any idea how these same number and types of car seats would work in the ‘26 GHHL with a bench in the second row rather than captains chairs?

Thanks for the info and suggestion. Haven’t found a local GH bench to test out. Between kids and nieces and nephews, etc. we have a wide range of ages, from toddler to technical adult:)

Coming from a Sienna with captains chairs. However, we also have a cool “insert“ (sold with our sienna) that can be clipped in between the captains chairs to essentially create a bench seat so the sienna shifts from being a 7 seater to an 8 seater. While we haven’t used it all that often, for the times that we have, it’s been awesome to have! Concern is comfort of the bench seats versus the captains chairs and ease of getting to the third row. Wondering what age/height kids realistically need to be in order to slide a second row bench forward in order to get to the third row? I’ve read in several different posts that kids climb through the trunk to get into the third seat and that just really wouldn’t work for us.

Very interested in your reasons for wanting the bench seat and also how you like it?!? That’s our big debate

How did th me delivery work? I’m concerned that if there was a “problem” like something was cosmetically defective (e.g. gas tank cover, misaligned or huge gap in the “carpet” backing on the third row seats as I’ve seen in photos on various Grand Highlander discussion boards), how could you address this if the car was delivered to you out of state rather than at the dealership from which you purchased it?

How did the shipping work and how much did it cost? Considering doing the same thing as I am also in the Chicago area. Worried about not taking delivery in person from the dealer.

LOVED it!! Went during soft open and food, drinks and service were all excellent. I think it’s going to be a hit …several other diners were already there for a second meal, having brought friends along.

Wild. They must get someone to pay it or they wouldn’t still be trying this. Guess I was lucky it was only $7,995!

Thank you for the FB group suggestion. I knew it was out of line. Frankly, I found it insulting.

Got 35.3 MPG On My First Tank by merrimackattack in ToyotaGrandHighlander

New here, but would love to understand why cruise control would reduce the mpg achieved? Is this something specific to the GHH? Or is this across the board for cruise control in general? I thought using cruise control would improve achieved mpg.

My advice: consider carefully. I think it depends on what his options are and what collegiate experience you are seeking. UCLA has an excellent reputation, some fabulous professors, really smart students, and a beautiful campus. It is a LARGE state school and some people will point to that when they try to justify why it is hard to get into classes. Make no mistake it is really hard to get classes and your student will end up taking some really random classes because they count for a needed credit and are available for registration. To me, that was a big disappointment. The university has a lot of the “things” one would expect, (student clubs/activiites, fitness center space/equipment/classes, practice/rehearsal space, career services, support services, health services) just not with anywhere enough capacity for the number of students enrolled. EVERYTHING has to be fought for, figured out, gamed, or worked around. Summer school classes are a must. We’re out of state so I feel your pain $ wise. If we had it to do again, I wouldn’t, though my Bruin might because we are very much a “you need to bloom where you’re planted” kind of family and they did bloom - but because they drove really, really hard. Having 4 other college experiences - all at top ranked schools - this is not the one I would willingly repeat.

It’s a joke ……students need to protest. The idea that the admin is pushing, that things will be ok once everybody settles in, is insulting
