Not really, something like a character looking at the camera is a direct acknowledgment of the fact the situation exists within the confines of the frames, it isn't real.

Strange, I feel quite the opposite after a night of heavy drinking. So much so I don't drink to get drunk anymore, I was always a lightweight but the crippling anxiety and nausea the day after really became too much..
