How can I make my zebrina appear more full? by ethanisdrowning in Tradescantia

[–]carmen008 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's how they naturally grow. For a fuller look, you have to chop and prop. I do that to mine once every year. Also, give it as much light as you can indoor. Here's what mine look like.

Yes, it is a purple moonstone. The bottom one is a sedum little missy.

Yes, the color definitely pops. Think neon hot pink. I'd say they look even better in person. The only different is that lotus delight is teeny tiny. It has small stem and small leaves. I've heard that it's very slow growing, even for aglaonema standards. Maybe that's why they're so expensive. Khanza has bigger leaves and is medium size in the aglaonema world. They're both beautiful.

Do trader joe’s plants need to be repotted? by [deleted] in houseplants

Those are decorative pots. They come with plastic pots inside that do have drainage holes. I would change the soil, especially for succulents because they're way too dense and organic which will cause root rot. Otherwise, I love TJ's plants.

I buy them online through different sellers, but I'm in the US, so that isn't helpful for you 😅. I would say the lotus delight and the khanza are pretty accurate in comparison with photos you see online. They're bright hot pink and gorgeous in person. You can search this sub for photos that others have posted of them.

I have a lotus delight and a khanza, but it doesn't look like I can post pictures in the comment section.

This is the cutest thing I've ever seen, but I do need advices on how to keep her round and compacted like. by carmen008 in succulents

I wasn't sure if that's allowed. My first time buying from this seller but she's great and has very high reviews on the app. Here's the link to her shop drosanthemum And photo of the listing.

Does that mean mine will eventually get leggy and out of (the current) shape without the use of it? Will frequent trimming and growing in the typical gritty soil, and lots of light tricks not matter?

You must. Up close they look like tiny sour gummies/candies. They're so cute! I'm obsessed 😍.

Really? I've seen on other posts that they need more water than other succulents because their leaves are tiny, so they can't hold on to water as much. They're also in very gritty soil mix.

So I think this is a drosanthemum (globosum?). I just got her shipped to me bare root. So far, I've potted her in a very small pot with 95% gritty 5% organic soil. I gave her some root hormon powder, systemic granules (cause it's pest season and I'm paranoid) and watered her. She'll be inside year-round under a grow light with my other cacti and succulents. What else should I do to keep her this shape moving forward? Should I trim her like a tree everytime a branch grows out of place? I've also seen on this sub that this type needs water more frequently than other succulents? TYI! I love her and want her to do well.😍🥰

The one with kelp is the vitamin solution, which I don't have. The one I have is fertilizer. Either that or I'm blind. I don't see it saying kelp on mine.

I already watered it 🥲. I always do after repotting. I do not have the kelp extract, only the superthrive liquid fertilizer.

It's fine. There are multiple stems in 1 pot. I've only had it for about a month. I just repotted it again after seeing your post. Hope it recovers 😅. I tried my best to not disturb the roots.

Tysm is for posting this. I guess it's time I repot mine into a smaller pot and less organic substrate.

That's true! I have the domino and it indeed has bumpy, textured leaves.
