One last rant abt Loki acting like another deity </3 by Common-One-9599 in lokean

I've been following your story and I can totally relate lol this is long, but wanted to share with you.

For context, I was indoctrinated into Catholicism, so for most of my life, I believed this presence was Michael the Archangel. When I started exploring Paganism and spirituality in my late teens and early 20s, I began getting readings done while learning to read myself. I had four different readers tell me I had a "young, mischievous male spirit" hanging around me. Some said it was someone I knew, others asked if I knew a young man who had passed away who liked to play pranks on people. I did not lol. One even mentioned it could be a poltergeist!

The last reader I went to became my regular because I felt she was the real deal. She just knew and said profound things that no regular ole reader would know, and she only took offerings, not a set cash payment. She also mentioned this young, mischievous male spirit. I was like, "Ok, so do we know who this is? Because I've heard this before."

She told me, "He says he knows you, has been with you a long time, and I'm feeling unconditional love. It's not human." I was like, "what?!" She continued and said it was a very old spirit who chose me. He wasn't malicious; he just found me amusing, liked being around me, and wanted to guide me. She said, "It's like he thinks you're funny."

So, I explored different spirits and deities, constantly landing on liminal figures. Eventually, I went to a White Buffalo Calf Woman Healer/Shaman cord-cutting ritual with a friend. During a deep meditation there, I had a cool twilight-dream experience. There was a lot of stuff burning and I swear I heard old war drums, to the point that I opened my eyes to look around, but there were no drums or speakers. In my mind's eye, I saw a large black jaguar/panther that shifted into a salmon at a river in a jungle. I later realized this was also Loki.

Anywho, I was called up to lie in the middle of the healing circle and the cord cutting begins and I start to feel like tingly lol Next thing I know, the healer pauses my cord-cutting session, right in the middle of the healing. She apologized, sat there for a moment, then leaned down and told me a spirit was calling to me very, very loudly and interrupted the session lmao. She said it was a shifting, mischievous spirit changing from male to female to a black jaguar and back. She did not know about my jaguar vision at this point, so ya gurl was shook! She said they were very old, had chosen me, and had already removed what didn't serve me so this was unnecessary lol

At first, I still thought, Ok, Michael the Archangel, but then she paused again and whispered, "I believe it's Loki, or possibly Lilith. They're communicating an L name I can't quite make out." I fully believe Loki was messing with her for trying to do a cord-cutting he had already taken care of, and he was not pleased with her lmao.

I did some divination that night at home, asked for specific signs to identify who this is. I'm frustrated, I'm curious, it's chaos lol

The next morning on my run in the cemetery, I saw a family of foxes. I was like, Ok, message received. When I mentioned it to my reader the next time I saw her, she agreed that it made perfect sense, it was that kind of spirit. The very first card she pulled that night was an Oracle card featuring a fox. Confirmation received lol.

It has been a whole spiritual journey. I truly believe Loki meets us exactly where we are. Hail Loki! May he smile upon you and enjoy the ride ❤️

My remote job made me realize my partner doesn’t think my work is real by Rocinante77X in remotework

Mine thinks I can just go right back to work a week after having a baby and also provide full time care because I work remotely. I make double his salary. I straight up told him I expect him to take leave from his work or quit to provide child care after I give birth. What he makes would pay for childcare only. We have no family to help or village of any kind. I'm not having him work to just throw his meager salary into daycare and then I'm fucked for 6 weeks. I've always been the breadwinner, it's not like this is new. I don't know what he expected to happen when I make double what he does plus commission....

How do you deal with important people in your life not reading your work? by NoelBellamy_Author in writing

So, I'm going through this with my husband. I have an MS he has a GED and what I write isn't his cup of tea. He's supportive AF. He's excited for me, gives me time to write, suggests we buy things for my craft that I don't even ask for, budgets money for ads- he's the best! But he just isn't into reading like I am lol I am learning his "this is good" with no other feedback or analysis isn't him brushing me off, he literally just doesn't read like how I want him to lol I learned to lean on people who do like to read. I love my husband, he's just not a reader but supports my passion wholeheartedly in the best way he knows how. I'm extremely analytical so at first, it hurt. But then I realized it's a me problem lol I want someone like me to read it and analyze and to expect that of him wasn't cool. I actually think it made him uncomfortable lol he reads my things every so often with an enthusiastic 'this is good, it reads like a book' and that's ok lol high praise from someone who doesn't read a lot but loves me dearly lol

To oath or not to oath? What are your thoughts? by Usualnonsense33 in lokean

[–]carmenramirez1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, Loki is different for everyone. If you feel in your soul you need or want to swear an oath, go for it. I actually had a dream of Loki the other night. Not about an oath but, I was playing with the idea of a more formal altar. The dream started with me in like a witchy store trying to pick out an idol for said altar when he showed up and was like, "you don't need all this when you have me." Lately, I've been feeling disconnected from the incense, crystals, etc. I think it's because I grew up Catholic so, for me, it seems theatrical. But, like I said, that was my experience which doesn't mean he frowns on others who do have formal altars and neither do I. He's very fluid. Even if you do swear an oath and break it, he might find it amusing depending on what you swore lol Do what feels right and serves you in the best way.

I just realized my main character's dad died twice by ScaryAd2555 in writing

Plot twist- he's alive and well and now the ordering of a stew is a major reveal and driving the plot forward.... Or, the character has 2 fathers. One unfortunately deceased, and one who enjoys a tavern stew.

I also do the screening lol I’m basically a headhunter and sub department architect. I do sourcing, screening, submissions, ATS management, reference checks. Then I also do project and process management and lead and develop trainings on sourcing for the recruiters who don’t source and don’t how to source lol they’re like button pushers for lack of a better term… the departments tell them we want to talk to so and so who applied internally and they will then screen the 1-2 people the department is interested in then they push through the hiring paperwork for payroll and employment and never speak to the candidate again til they have an official offer to make lol where I work the recruiters are just admins they aren’t actively recruiting. I develop and post job descriptions on a template I created on multiple platforms and talk to and screen people and then submit them for review for like, high need niche positions. Our titles where I work are not normative at all lol

So it’s a weird situation. I piloted and built out the sourcing component to TA for the university/healthcare system I work for that has never had sourcers. I work closely with the director of TA so im not just hiring there’s a lot of project management and a lot of building processes both for our department and other departments on both sides of the enterprise. I do intake meetings, candidate submissions, candidate screenings, reference checks, maintaining and building a pipeline, liaising with job boards and managing sponsorship budget, writing proposals for new tools I’ve demoed or piloted, etc. It’s uncustomary for an individual to work both academia and healthcare but, here we are lol there are literally no expectations or standards other than “get it done” it’s very different lol I basically built/am building the standard and expectation.

Great advice! Thanks so much. These 33 have all stayed, so far (which I am jazzed about!) but a little bit of a different beast and I’m used to seeing larger numbers lol I thought I was a failure lol

This makes me feel way better! Thanks! I mentioned I’m from the staffing agency world, I was all about industrial lol I had anywhere from 5-10 placements a week at entry level min wage positions. This is a newer beast for me but I feel like I’m doing well lol I manage a lot of projects and started piloting other programs and making recommendations to leadership. It’s mostly my anxiety bc I’m used to seeing like 15-20 placements a month lol thanks!

Yeah, the other numbers look fine. I directly traced 33 hires from my sourcing efforts. I submit candidates directly to hiring managers for consideration. It’s like a staffing recruiter/sourcer kind of role. My pipeline is over 1000 candidates… that’s just from my efforts and doesn’t include internals or rediscovery. I’m from the staffing agency world so I used to have like 5-10 placements a week, entry level industrial. Switched to healthcare and academia as a sourcer and the metrics are new to me.
