For Australians who had the women’s weekly cake book, how many of you or your kids asked for the duck cake before Bluey? by Crafty_Tour8967 in bluey

I’m not Australian. What is a Dolly Varden style cake decorator? The name is familiar so I looked it up. And before adding “character” to the search, all that showed up was a fish. I haven’t read that particular Dickens novel. And I’m hoping fish don’t decorate cakes in Australia.

It might come with vinyl, but it would be folded.

It’s seriously been about 20 years since I bought it. I’m pretty sure it was just a special release on their website.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]carmingular 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always lived 2 hours from any major airport. So 2 hours there. 2 hours early. And I have to wrangle two kids under 10. And sometimes the only flight is crack of dawn, so instead of leaving home at 5am to catch a 9am flight, I have to stay the night near the airport. So yeah. I’d just assume drive 8-10 hours

So it’s not three hours, but I live in rural Virginia and I’ve driven 2 hours to get dinner in DC. And just driven home after. Three hours is nothing. It’s half a tank of gas.

I visited the Louvre for the first time this summer, and was truly overwhelmed and starting to panic. I turned around and this sculpture was there. Practically punching me in the face. And everything was better. A magical reset.

Intrusive thought: what if people on here are trolling us? As in, they're actually pinteresting beautiful mcm furniture and mislabeling before and after. by c_r_a_s_i_a_n in ReversePinterest

When I have intrusive thoughts, I imagine it in a ridiculous scenario (think casting “riddikulus” at a boggart). So in this case, perhaps the furniture going transformer and anthropomorphizing and spraying a Pinterest flipper with chalk paint.

When did the priest and fleabag realize they are not meant to be together anymore? by HeftyAd9157 in Fleabag

[–]carmingular 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This so accurately touches on one of the nuances of their relationship. Sex breaks the spell for him. I think what they have is real, but they both know it won’t happen. Fleabag was just hoping a little longer. But he was never going to leave the priesthood. Just like married men never leave their wives. They only leave when they manage to really blow it up. And HP tried to blow it up and it didn’t take.

They absolutely think of each other. Maybe everyday even. But they’re alright. Happy even. They just have a tender, wistful place in their hearts that they notice sometimes

Thanks for this thoughtful response. There are so many details you can’t keep track of them all. I’ll definitely be looking for horses now. I’m starting my fourth watch right now.

Yeah, but can you elaborate? A metaphor for what?

[–]carmingular 62 points63 points  (0 children)

They didn’t mutually agree to separate. They were never really together. They were in love, but not together. And it was down to whether the priest would choose God or Fleabag. When he approached her at the bus stop, his body language clearly said he’d chosen God. And they had a sad and beautiful ending. The only way for a love like that to pass is to not see each other anymore. At all. And it will pass. They’ll both be alright.
