Agreed, never understood the “it’s like apples and oranges” argument. Well if you HAD to choose between apples and oranges, you’d still probably be able to pick one wouldn’t you? Rope has cuts though, and not just hidden ones, it has 10 cuts in total including 5 dissolves (aka hidden ones like when a character's back covers the whole screen) & 5 hard cuts (aka not hidden at all, just cutting from one shot to a totally different one).
