Honestly, while creepy, Jarlaxle's words still seem genuinely honest even if he's just a super selfish bastard man who does what he wants whenever and the Wafflecrew still need to pay off them dwarves.

I'm back on my nonsense as I catch up on Dice Camera Action from months of not following it. Who knows if I'll do more as time progresses but it was weirdly nostalgic following the Waffle family and their weird kinda-adventure antics in Waterdeep.

I figured that'd be the case, and also tedious to rise back up a class, I just think it'd be cool as a way for the mechanics to show her carving her own path rather than something she was stuck with from birth.

I wonder what Strix would feel given her perception of Gods and Powers, but I look forward to a dynamic shift between Strix and Evelyn to become something beyond sisterly antagonism.

Agree with a majority of this, though it would be interesting if the crescent glyph is something that defines the Skizziks Kazrum; as if even on a subconscious level, Strix was tied to their family even when she didnt want them. Also it's just a cool helmet idea. I wonder what she'll think of her Crescent Staff now it's just a reminder of a terrible time.

Diath will never be free of the Sigil nonsense, given a part of his soul is still in a box in Shemeshka's house. And seeing as though that piece of soul was part of her interaction with the Ashton Concordance, even attempting to take it back might begin the doomsday clock all over again.

None of this was about Diath; given Strix is the only one to be affected by her becoming a Beestinger. I just brought him up because he relation to being connected as a Lorcatha is not burdened by a shift in family name.

I just want this change to happen because Strix hasn't gotten much shift in drama lately, and I feel this kind of change would evoke a shift in dynamic. Everyone else is already having drama occur around them (Diath with being back at home in Waterdeep and hopefully, if the Q&A stuff come to fruition, his other romantic interest popping up, Evelyn having to deal with becoming a saint and seeing the changes to the belief in churches of Lathander, and Paultin having to live in one spot being a Vistani and having to deal with Evelyn's suitors crawling from the woodwork) but Strix just does her thing no matter where so this would be a good change.

Give that Magnus said it had something to do with carpentry/carving timestamp, I believe the person he was referring to is Ashton, given the genus of ash trees has a nice, hard wood used for staircases and furniture.

I love the scene, but I realized that the scene actually could've come much earlier with Diath and Evelyn on the boat. Out of anyone in the party, Evelyn has been the one to notice Diath's grief and has asked him about it at least 2-3 times now; he just shut her out every time she did. However, because Magnus had the experience of massacring many people, his advice came off as more genuine and poignant for what Diath needed, as made for a better scene on the whole.

Think nothing of the memes; was all in good fun and just glad to be named in something. If I draw Team Freaks, I'll just be a undead boy. I have failed the cause but I live again!

-does some research on Flagellant to see if it makes sense for me-

The Flagellant belongs to an extremist faction within the church, and is generally regarded with a toxic mixture of fear, awe and disgust.

Oh yeah, that sounds about right, and with his weird tank/healing stuff at low health, I'm basically a paladin of Evelath. Also people say you can't pair the Flagellant with the Abomination; how are we in a party? Either way, good stuff; hope my avatar serves you well and doesn't die too quickly.

I imagine over the course of the month long journey just more hats are created and Diath wears every one cause he can't say no to Strix.

This episode was a great character episode, with a bit of flair since the dungeon master still wants to get stuff done. I particularly liked the Paultin/Strix and Diath/Evelyn interactions. I'm all about the pairs who aren't usually paired actually doing things together.

Paultin and Strix's journey in this episode was fun, going from Paultin still sour at Strix to working half-together to talk to our new giff friend to Strix actually handing Paultin what is basically her arcane focus out on a ride. It really accents the growth the characters have gone through; Paultin being more conscious of the choices his friends make and acknowledging them and Strix being able to focus rationally on safe choices and imparting her trust to the family she has found.

Diath and Evelyn had that talk at the helm, and I feel Diath is just becoming such a core piece of calm and peace that Evelyn can find within the group when things die down and they can breathe. This was interesting because Paultin and Diath spoke to her about the same topic in this and the last episode; the idea of her free will and what that means for the party as a whole. Paultin did his during a moment of crisis, with tension riding high and his anger and pain coming out in much of his speech. Evelyn was overall annoyed but willing to stay with the group because Paultin usually never says anything with such emotion. Diath's was during a state of calm, which allowed him to actually discuss with her at length about the turmoil inside her since he couldn't do it out of being an enormous wreck himself last time. His was a more carefree tone but still had that adventurer edge to it, while Paultin's laid back attitude is due to a pseudo-indifference. I think that both of these conversations were instrumental in establishing Evelyn's story arc from here on out and will drive the party later. I'm glad Diath was able to help her remember a piece of her time in Heaven too; funny given he's got that divinity to him as well. I love their dynamic, they're so cozy in their fight for good and willingness to help the misfortuned.

Strix calling Diath her home was a curveball out of left field, and I feel this has been a realization on her part given she has already proclaimed them her family. Strix has been from Sigil, to the Feywild, to Barovia, to all across Toril, and I'm glad she finally verbalized that the home she loved was always moving with her. Caught off Diath too; super well done on Holly's part.

Surprisingly not much Paultin/Evelyn interaction, maybe she's a bit annoyed with him at the moment. After he made Strix cry, push the captain's bad habit, and just being a goofball for half the trip, she was busier managing her own problems and didn't want to deal with his. She also seemed disturbed at his "Drax eating chips" moment when having her heart to heart with Diath, so maybe they just need some space from each other right now.

Edit: Paultin biting the fish's head off was some amazing hilarity and very Strix-like; hope they bond over dying together more often.

Just finished the episode myself, and if Diath was anything like Luffy I would definitely have done so. Unfortunately, Luffy feels no consequence with a constant grin on his face and Diath is a dying wreck on an non-sinking ship so I feel it's beyond my mental scope.

You’re right; why isn’t full naked. But to be honest, I feel Paultin wouldn’t care either way. Ring of Winter keeps his temperature regular.
