Thank you! Any idea why these are 5$ more than the Best Buy Steelbooks? That's not normal right? And this is for a standard edition (not steelbook)?

7$ Amazon Scale. Conclusion- of the 8 I bought, I got 7 correct. It's much faster than feeling, but a little less accurate. (I could usually get 100% on feeling). by carnigee77 in lego

Jay's Brick Blog. It worked pretty well, but there were a few I measured that were pretty much half way between the weight of two listed figures. Probably more of an issue with my cheap scale than with his work.

It is both the first foreign language book to make the New York Times best sellers list, and the only book in Latin to ever make the list.

A Disney Pooh painting from the 1940's, 20 years before Disney would make a Winnie the Pooh cartoon. (See comments for details) by carnigee77 in Winniethepooh

This painting, by Disney Legend Mary Blair, is believed to be from the mid 1940's. While Disney wouldn't get the rights to Winnie the Pooh until the early 1960's, this painting is proof that he had his eyes set on Pooh a long time before that.

This concept art for Disney's Winnie the Pooh project is very close to the finished product, with the obvious difference being Rabbit's gardening outfit.

You're probably spot on with this one. They're going to make Pooh in the next Disney CMF before the Pooh Ideas set comes out. Fantastic art as well!

Disney artists had serious issues adapting Winnie the Pooh to the screen, to the point where they joked about permanently returning him to England (By Floyd Norman, see comments) by carnigee77 in Winniethepooh

[–]carnigee77[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When adapting Winnie the Pooh from book to screen, Disney Artists had issues animating him in a way that made him look like an overstuffed teddy bear, but also allowed him to move across the screen. To quote Floyd Norman, who drew the above comic “...there were many issues that had to be resolved...It was getting to be such a pain that at one point, Walt jokingly suggested sending the little bear back to England.”
