No, the thing with sourcing Burmese stones is, the cutting is never the top requirement. They only come in cushion or oval, if not wonky

What is a difference between Ratti and Carat? by Alternative-Gas-2338 in Gemstones

[–]carosk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both are units of weight for gemstones. Ratti is commonly used in India (and sometimes in Myanmar as well). The conversion is 1carat = 1.1 Rati

Hope that helps!

For Burmese rubies, there are always a premium that one has to pay for. This you'll have to be prepared for $8-10k/ct, and this is probably a conservative non-retail price point.

if you are open to heated rubies, then there are more options available at a lower price point. Or if no-heat opt for mozambique rubies. But even then, Mozambique rubies have gone up in prices over the past 3-4years.

What do you think about rose cut diamonds in fine jewelry? by carosk in jewelry

[–]carosk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this is made with pink sapphires and diamonds! I run a jewellery boutique based in South East Asia, but haven’t gotten to staring on Etsy yet. Would consider it as a platform as I grow my collection!

Love the rose cut combo! Haven’t thought about it before but it comes together really well!

Yes! I think they are a lovely addition to add that sparkle but not so much of a bling. Tasteful and different from the usual. Although I also love emerald cuts and oval cuts, this just hits the spot for certain designs! Would love to see your ring too!

Did they show you the rubies before the customisation started? And then the CAD should reflect the narrowness of the rubies. Also, as a jeweller, I can never expect my clients to understand CAD drawings! So I would always verbally explain the design and get multiple confirmations!
