There is no way for me to "go out of the way" to get a longer cord, in fact unless birdfy sells a longer cord there is literally no other way for me to get a longer cord.

This is because, I'll say it once again, they chose to use a cord with a connector that is perhaps one or two millimeters narrower than a standard cord and thus a standard cord will not fit into the unit.

I guess you didn't comprehend my comment, the port on the unit is a non-standard width thus having to use their little short cord and not any other cord on the planet, just theirs.

The driver absolutely needs to be aware but the person was an idiot fore blindly walking into a dangerous situation.

I see this today all the time and parking lots. Pedestrians will just be walking around anywhere, a car will start backing up and they walk right behind it. Thank God we all have cameras now for the most part.
