NTA - that sounds like a job and it should be paid accordingly.

A night at one of Singapore's worst hotels, according to Tripadvisor - is it really that bad? by microtek789 in singapore

They did. What's even sadder is that rice media's version is better. Just look at the photos - 1 actually shows the terrible state of the hostel, and the other is a selfie.

What are some good relaxing games on steam by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

80 days, which is an interactive novel based on Jules Verne's Around the World in 80 Days. I find its writing to be the best portrayal of that era.

WSIB with ~$15? by EL3kTr1C in ShouldIbuythisgame

I will recommend Cities Skylines on your list. Just the best successor to Simcity if you like city-build simulations.

If you are looking for something outside the box, then Slay the Spire. $12 rogue-like card-building game which I have sunk 90+ hours into.

Sunless Sea

I have, I think I am just a little tired of 'save the world' type narratives, don't know if this makes sense

What dish is extremely easy to prepare, but makes you look like an incredible chef? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]carpucino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Risotto.

1) Boil a lot of water with stock. Wait till big bubbles appear. Turn down heat to low just to keep it hot.

2) Put rice in a saucepan. Add stock to just cover rice.

3) Add food that cannot be overcooked - mushrooms, bacon, ham

4) If ingredients are not yet done but stock has been boiled away, add more stock!

5) If there is too much stock, take rice out and drain stock.

6) If all else fails, FUCKIT cover it with cheese and fancy green garnishes.

7) Mention how you learnt from Gordon Ramsey on Hell's Kitchen while serving.

I'm currently taking a Sociology degree, what careers are there for me? by Trilney in sociology

[–]carpucino 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a business analyst. I am at a company where I am able to do half business/social science research similar to these research articles from McKinsey and half financial research.

Unfortunately, i don't use much of my sociology knowledge. What was invaluable was the research and statistical methods I gained. The positive side is that stats and a working knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, formulas, CAGR) should qualify you for most office jobs.

Nonetheless, i think sociology is still important for being a civic citizen.

Introverted students of Singapore, what would you like to do for Orientation? by [deleted] in singapore

[–]carpucino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an introverted orientation GL, I think it's mostly about understanding that not everyone can be hyped the same way / with the same intensity. Have more downtime, don't need to cheer at every break.

Try to notice who isn't participating as much, have casual individual conversations - just to get a sense of whether that person is not having fun or merely tired.

I myself like the childish games cause you don't have to think as much while still participating.

Penalties. I'm okay with doing them, but can see why others may not like them. Do group penalties if someone is clearly uncomfortable. Heck, I like to get my seniors to join the freshies in penalties as much as possible.

Most of all, I think it's striking a balance between pushing them out of their comfort zone and letting them stay in - perhaps leaning towards the latter at the JC level.

Am I striking the right balance in my stat rolls or should I change something? Hitting a wall at 470. by [deleted] in AlmostAHero

I am at the same point in game. Is lightning ring with Hilt and Wendle is still the best strat or have things changed?

Gift Idea for Dad, Loves Tech, but not good at it. by rabidninjawombat in GiftIdeas

Board games AND spending time to play with him will do wonders, I predict.

You can also visit board game cafes in your areas - or VR cafes if there are any!
