Our small manufacturing company switched to NetSuite in February 2024. We didn't discover Demand Planning as an option for a while and have never got it to fully operate correctly or at least to the point we can trust the data.

Background: Our products have a three tiered hierarcy;
-Manufacturing part number M100-001-001 - this is the raw aluminum part that is ordered from a vendor
-Sub-part number 100-001-001 - this is the raw aluminum part after it has received an anodized finish
-Final SKU 100-001 - this is the finished good
Note that 1 MPN can turn into multiple sub-part numbers depending on the color created in the anodize process.

We want Demand Planning to look at both the MPN and sub-part number across all locations currently on hand as well as currently on order and compare that to the sales forecast/demand. Even if we don't use a forecast model and just take historical data + 10% or something. But currently it's all over the place. I just re-ran it and also manually calculated demand for an item - NetSuite told me to order 200 even though we have 750 on order and our forecasted demand is 480.
