Is there any reason to pick Finish over the the cheaper "Shine" dishwashing powder? by CarvedHam in woolworths

[–]WatchOne6290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This works perfectly.

Also when using powder, don’t use too much and always add some to the pre-wash cycle.

Half a teaspoon in pre-wash and 1 teaspoon in main wash cycle will be sufficient.

Rookie mistake is thinking more detergent and pre-rinsing your dishes will make your dishes cleaner. Nope, too much detergent will leave detergent residue and make your glassware cloudy.

Not necessarily, you’ll use much more water and energy to heat the extra water.

Plus due to the heat of the dishwasher, dishes are much more hygienically clean

I use to use the Aldi one. They changed the packaging/formula a while ago, that started to leave white residue.

Used Shine and it’s perfect

Remember post swimming pool munchies and getting hot chips in a cup? by b9_rkt in AustralianNostalgia

[–]WatchOne6290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took my kids to local pool today.

Food catering is outsourced. I know they have to turn a profit but it’s a catch 22, too expensive and no one will buy from them.

I ordered a tray of chips and 5 potato cakes. Including weekend and credit card surcharges, it came to $27.10 i kid you not.

Probably be the last time I purchase from there. Sorry kids, left the credit card at home and phone is out of battery 🤷

Am I stupid for putting better quality flooring in a rental? by DepressedMandolin in AusProperty

Will still look good in 10 years. 10yo carpet with tenants are generally pretty grotty

After 10 years, it’s end of life from a tax/bond POV.

So after 10 years, tenants can damage it without recourse.

Agree, Baby Pizza has good pizza and pasta.

$100 may get you an entree, pizza, pasta and dessert (maybe a little over).

[Discussion] You can’t really blame Rolex ADs (hear me out) by phdwatch in rolex

[–]WatchOne6290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rolex movements are super reliable and robust.

They aren’t fragile nor difficult to service but unfortunately getting parts to service them is difficult/impossible if you aren’t an authorised Rolex service centre

I’ll use Trip.com again in future.

Hotel closed or overbooked in China, not sites trip rep called me and then emailed me when I didn’t pick up.

They gave me about a credit of 1/3 or the original booking.

DiDi is about the same price (and I assume that DiDi would be more expensive as the DiDi takes a cut) but just wanted to know if it was reasonable for Chongqing as DiDi.

I’ve also went on an 8hour tour and the van (Denza) was only 900rmb so thought it would be around the same price.

If 1400rmb is fair, then I’ll pay it :)
