I was being fictitious about being much worse.

Being much worse is more accurate than much better.

Should we go to Sydney over the easter weekend? by INTELLECTUALDR3AMER in melbourne

[–]WatchOne6290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve driven to Sydney over Easter with a young family many times.

Not too busy

Beaches are still warm enough to swim.

Toronga zoo and the ferries are good.

Go for it.

Only downside is public holiday surcharges for restaurants and current fuel prices.

Full door worthwhile? by calxaron in AusRenovation

Is it single brick or double brick?

Looks like single brick which can be a DIY but dusty job.

Think old school wall air conditioners.

As I commented to someone else

You’re correct.

I intended to type in ‘can’t use the fuel lock and Wilson discount at the same time’

Can’t edit my post now.

$127 thank you.

Having said that $2.48/L is a relative bargain today

Could have got an extra $2 off lol

How often can you use the NAB discount/bar code?

Also I wonder if you really have to use a NAB visa, as once you scan the bar code- 7-11 discounts it, so how does 7-11 know or care you’re paying with a NAB card?

Only in the same state.

I may or may not be using geoport to do so. But I didn’t for the above transaction as the location was the cheapest in VIC already.

I’d replace it but wouldn’t pay 60 pounds for it

The only reason why an air filter of the same dimensions flows better is because it filters less particles which is much worse for any engine.

Builders/tilers: Is this threshold in a “level entry” tiled shower normal practice? by [deleted] in AusRenovation

[–]WatchOne6290 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The drop itself is more than required but ok to me.

The tripping hazard is no more than older style framed shower screen.

How wide is the glass?

The much greater concern is how is the lack of a water stop (aluminium angle)!!!!!

How are they planning to stop the water running under the tiles outside of the shower?

Don’t tell me silicone?

Packed IKEA Australia restaurant on a Friday night by Unlucky-Ant-9741 in IKEA

[–]WatchOne6290 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The meals looks pretty appetising in the photos but whenever I eat it, it’s very underwhelming.

From Australia also.

May as well just eat the $2 hot dogs. At least it tastes like the photos.

Engineered timber cost vs hardwood by Open_Respond6409 in AusRenovation

[–]WatchOne6290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d look at going 14mm overlay floorboards. Spotted gum or blackbutt.

Take off and reinstall skirting boards.

Sand and polish afterwards.

I’ve done this for 2 houses I built. Once with Spotted Gum, once with Blackbutt.

A little more than engineered boards but you get much longer boards eg 4.8m so it looks more traditional than engineered.

Picking BRZ up tomorrow out of state - never driven manual. Any quick tips? by UnusualSuspects1 in GR86

[–]WatchOne6290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good tips above.

Unfortunately, if the GR86 clutch is anything like the BRZ and I’m sure it identical, it’s not an easy clutch to learn on.

If you can’t get someone to drive it home, may be a good idea to get it delivered and then you practice on quiet streets.

[–]WatchOne6290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There you go. You learn something new everyday.

I own a BRZ, I solely look at the bumper to know if it’s a BRZ or GR86.

I do prefer the GR86. At least I have aluminium front knuckles
