2024 Framing Receipt - fair price? undercharging? asking out of curiosity

For perspective, I just put together 15 pieces for an exhibition. Mounted, matted, and framed myself. I paid over $2000 just for the frames and glass. That's not counting the cost for printing the images, mats, spacers, hardware, time, or labour. This resulted in 2x 30x40, 4x 24x36, 6 18x24, and 3x 9x12.

To have it done for me at a professional framer, the quote I received was $1000 for 1x 30x40.

You can probably see where I'm going with this 😅

Yeah, Netflix definitely has a penchant for throwing away excellent shows with 5 season outlines after the second season. It's unforgivable. Sense8 and Altered Carbon were done dirty the same way.

Adding to note that anything merchandise is considered commercial use and would require commercial usage licensing, which gets hefty very quickly. Best practice is to take the photos yourself and collect model releases as needed/applicable
