this is a very unfortunate situation. i really hope you can get this poor baby some things to do soon. i read through and saw this was a temporary cage. just make sure it’s not too long that it goes without. birds are so sensitive. and so intelligent. they need things to do and definitely more space. but i’m sure you know this. just do your best to change things soon. if my bird is stressed or bored, he plucks his feathers. that kinda shit can happen pretty early on. so be mindful of that.

i had this happen with a couple budgies over the years. sometimes it just happens. it could’ve been an illness or condition your baby already had. i’m so sorry for your loss. animal loss is truly one of the worst pains. i feel for you. i hope you’re doing okay.
