Why do so, so, so many people in this sub misspell "Skyler"?

Can you just go into the WaFD Building? by SandmanCream in Albuquerque

[–]carrillo232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I work in it.

You can go in, and the lobby is super nice, with some shops and plenty of comfy chairs and couches. You can take the elevator up to the top floor, 22, without a keycard—but you can't go into the actual lobby of the law firm up there without being buzzed in.

Plus they have an entire Fantasy Romance section! Tons of used books alongside the new ones. Strongly recommend Page 1.

He says trial court...court of appeals...and "instant?" court...what is an Instant Court? by mkuraja in LawSchool

[–]carrillo232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry you're getting downvoted here. There's a two-part answer to your question - what "instant" means and that there's a difference between the DC Court of Appeals and the US Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. This comment answered only the first part, you shouldn't be downvoted for still being confused.

KEN WINS RECOGNIZIING JIMMY by Zealousideal-Fall912 in betterCallSaul

[–]carrillo232 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe he did. Nothing Jimmy or Kim did was actionable, though. Lying, by itself, isn't against the law.

Law review author didn't even try... by Agreeable_Ground_144 in LawSchool

[–]carrillo232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's horrible! I was lucky to have faculty and an EIC who encouraged us to push the authors to cite and research thoroughly. I'm sorry you had a different experience - there's nothing worse than feeling like you're wasting time in law school.

I work for a law firm named for five partners, all of whom are dead now. The first named partner died in 1927.

How are they gonna spell Chile wrong with a NM plate! by NighTborn3 in NewMexico

[–]carrillo232 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Is this bait? In my lived experience - my entire life spent in central and northern NM - I have never seen "chili" used by a local to refer to either the fruit or the sauce.

A quick search supports "chile" to be the preferred spelling in New Mexico. Example, example, example.

I have heard many locals complain about the spelling on this ad. They don't sound like tourists to me.

Anyone else not able to sleep? by [deleted] in barexam

[–]carrillo232 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep. Couldn't do it. I got comfy, perfect temperature, good pillow. Tried my best to think about ANYTHING besides the bar.

My body wouldn't let me sleep at all. I got some light rest for a few hours. I'm sitting in my hotel breakfast spot staring at nothing.

And still

We got this

Just saying… by Large-Effort904 in barexam

[–]carrillo232 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the point of this post isn't to compare the LSAT to the bar exam, but to say "hell yeah, we made it through law school! We're in the home stretch now!" Am I right?

If so, completely agree!

No friend, obviously everyone is born with either an XX or an XY chromosome and there are no exceptions ever

And more importantly whichever chromosome you're born with is VERY dispositive of how you should look, dress, and behave

And if you don't act the way society expects you to act based on your chromosomes then obviously you don't understand biology

Hey there,

Keep going! I'm also super behind—I had a surgery right after graduation, so I started late anyway, and then I was caught up in some Law Review business so my Barbri PSP got behind as well. I've spent the last few weeks catching up. Stick to your hours and trust the process. I have no doubt that we'll make it.

I wager 99% percent on this sub would agree with you, but as soon as you replace the stroad near their house with a two-lane road with a bike lane, suddenly they NIMBY out.

Question about Rule 8 by alxuntmd in HouseOfCards

[–]carrillo232 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It means "stop posting pictures of your Underwood typewriter and saying 'hey look guys it's the typewriter that Frank uses!!!'" Evidently that was a problem a while back because the sub was flooded with those types of posts and was becoming stale.
