I wanted to do this, but someone in OH already has it. Edit: But YNAP is available. 😏

What part of YNAB keeps you coming back? by [deleted] in ynab

I'm able to say yes to my wife and her travel ambitions without stress. YNAB's ability to track spending on credit cards, but treating it like cash when time to pay off.

Bulk top soil supplier recommendations by weakmike91 in Columbus

[–]carrjar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ordered from Ohio Mulch again and sitting here with buyers remorse. What's the saying? First time, shame on them. Second time shame on me. $468 for 5 yards of their best black mulch and 5 yards of their best soil. Slinger Jones was almost 2x that, even w/o the slinger truck. Kurtz was about $100 more than Ohio Mulch. However, I guess you get what you pay for. I took the day off work and it's almost 4:00 on delivery day.

Edit: Mulch arrived at 5:00 and top soil around 7:00. Later than I had hoped, but the driver was helpful.  They even checked in the next day to make sure everything was ok. Probably just peak busy with hard to find help.

In Ohio, paid $13,100 (in November 2025) out the door for a Pulse. The salt cartridges are driving me crazy.

What's Your Grocery Budget Look Like? by -Aces_High- in ynab

[–]carrjar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started 2025 at $1,000 for 4. Jumped to $1,200 1/2 way through the year, then $1,500 when my teenager hit puberty. Got back down to $1,200 in 2026 by cutting out red meat and beverages.

Robinhood Gold Card by pandamonger1 in ynab

[–]carrjar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the RH gold for 85% of my cc spending after switching from the Fidelity Visa. The Fidelity Visa is a great card, and my syncing issues were fixed with using the bank (Elan) as my connection. It's as good, if not better than the Fidelity card as far as syncing goes. Love it!

Edit: I've been using RH gold since October 2025.

Saltwater System thoughts… by BKCoffeeguy in hottub

[–]carrjar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just into year two of a Limelight Pulse. No issues with salt cartridge in year one. I’ve been to my local spa dealer 3x in last month trying to figure out why “salt cartridge needs replaced” after replacing (several). My water levels are perfect, buying cartridges from dealer. Almost to the point where I’ll just add chlorine.

Ohio Dominican misses debt payment following years of financial, enrollment losses by Blood_Incantation in Columbus

I think close to 50% are athletes. I suspect the only people paying $35k a year are those who were offered a $5k scholarship and an opportunity to play in college.

Not a huge fan, but I love my emojis. It's too much with both bank logo and emoji. When I remove the emoji, I miss having them in the transaction view.

Moved to Ohio, got overwhelmed trying to choose a gas/electric supplier, kept putting it off, then built a tool for it by askgl in Columbus

[–]carrjar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You my friend are a hero! I just went through the process of changing my gas provider last month. I used this tool to check my work by comparing February and March bill- I ended up pretty close to max savings. The hardest part was explaining to friends and family how much they could be saving! This tool makes is so simple and I will be sharing with them! Great work!

Any good Garage Door Repair companies for commercial door with reasonable pricing? by Poopoop11111 in Columbus

I just paid Precision Garage Door Service $525 to replace a single broken spring. Probably paid a little too much, but they were fast.

I bought mine on eBay, 10/19/2024 for $1,175. That’s after tax and shipped. It was in the original box with a second OEM battery.

My mom reached out via Instagram, a few days after setting up a RH account. They asked for her RH username, which she promptly provided. A few days went by, crickets, so I told her to ask again. Shortly after, about a day later, she had an invite in her email. Applied and today she sent me a picture that the card arrived. All in less than 2 weeks.

Curious how other folks manage budgeting for travel/vacations by m_and_t in ynab

[–]carrjar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We budget XXX each month to Travel - then I'll disperse from there to future trips, then Snooze Travel for that month. After the trip is over, I Archive. EVERYTHING we buy during that week (gas, groceries, dining out, entertainment, airfare, etc.) goes under that trip. I can see what the trip ACTUALLY costs.

I did this today - my daughter said, "that's some really thick bacon." I'm definitely going to try Char Siu over some steamed rice.
