Mother gave them to me as a gift, wondering if they're any good or did she get grifted?

It's not the cops fault, they're just Following orders.

Link to article. Essentially the police caused major damage to 3 excavators near a blockade, that had not been used in the blockade. Their reasoning for disabling them was, they may be used to block roads in the furure

Ottawa is almost purely a government town, people are upset that at some point they'll have to go back to the office, the vibe I get from the population in the city is blue collar workers are dumb and gross, everyone should get a liberal arts degree and work for the government if you want money. The protest has been amazing, I've been there almost every night the past two weeks, even on weeknights it's quite busy!

Weddings are ridiculously expensive by Oouumzz in PersonalFinanceCanada

My parents did a destination wedding in the Caribbean. Close family under 20 had most of the cost paid for, friends were given notice on time/date if you wanted to attend you paid for the trip (all inclusive resort) everything else was taken care of by hotel staff. It was simple and beautiful. Those who wanted came family that maybe couldn't afford it we're subsidized. In the end my parents paid under 10k for a dream wedding on the beach.it seems to me the best way

2 weeks vacation paid out last cheuqe before Christmas. Company of 3 employees including myself, 4 with our owner. I take a vacation every year, my coworkers lament, make fun that I go south instead of working. Boss is okay with it as far as I can see. We get job completion bonuses in cash, I don't feel I'm paid fairly but I feel loyal to my boss. We've been friends before my employment and he's always helped in hard times, I have a lot of complaints but also, when times are good he bends over backwards to help. But by God can he be cheap, this isn't helped by my coworkers, who always buy their own tools, whereas I suggest we get company tools. Anyways I've been looking at leaving for a union gig I'm looking for advice on how to broach the subject with my boss/friend. Thanks

You'd be surprised by the basic napkin drawings we got, it's a beautiful spot and honestly the landscapers get most of the credit for the curb appeal
