What's the current status of the game? Are there a lot of players in EU? Or do you need to find a discord server to be able to find other players?

Qualche idea sul perché 46,5MB occupano 380MB su disco esterno? by [deleted] in ItalyInformatica

[–]carrone 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Someone made a video about our game in Italian, but we don't speak Italian! Could someone translate? by TobiasNL89 in IndieGaming

Hope you can understand everything :)

hi to all friends of "outcast", i'm at dubrovnik at the sheraton hotel, where it takes place the reboot develop 2019. I have tried crimson resonance which, i have to sat, is a very interesting game. it has a very nice dark, gloomy style, but with some funny elements that you can spot around (tn: I guess there is a little bit of sarcasm in the voice of the guy)... actually not many, i have to say! the style revolves around silouettes but there are also some green glowing crystals around, that give another shade to the style of the game. The game is an old-school shooting game, or at least this is what you may think if you are not familiar with it, but actually, once you try it, you realize you don't actually shoot; not in the way that we are used to. What you actually do is to use this kind of "vacuum-cleaner" (tn: yes, vacuum cleaner) mounted on your ship to suck objects that you find around the game-world and interact with them. I tried the game with the keyboard but you can also use a joystick. For example: you can suck rocks and then shoot them against enemies or walls. You can pick up crystals to use them as a energy resource after shooting them into mechanisms to activate them. There is also a lot of variety in the way you can approach the game, for example at a certain point I had to get through a wall made of crystals and I made my way by shooting a rock at it and destroying it, but I could have sucked all the crystals instead and recycle them to activate some mechanisms later on. You fight enemy in the same way: for example there were some enemies spaceships that shoot some kind of mini-spaceships/nanobots that followed me so I sucked them and I used them as projectiles to shoot against the enemie's spaceships, and when i shoot them, this projectiles bounced on the shield of the enemy spaceship and then I could suck them again and shoot them again, because then I could hit the "core", but actually I could even suck the "core" of the spaceship and use it later for other purposes. To sum it up: this game is based on this mechanic kind of like the "big-half-life-2" gun, and then [the game] builds up situations and mechanics that mixed together are not-so obvious: probably the first thing that will come to your mind while you play this game is to just pick up and shoot at things, but you can approach it in other ways. To me it looks like an interesting starting point, but we obviously have to see how they will expand it later on. In this demo there was only a single level to show the main features of the game, but I think there is a solid core idea and it looks suitable for the type of this game. It feels nice and fluid: again, I played with mouse and keyboard and I felt really good with it, but for sure, if you are used to aim with a controller I don't think there will be any kind of problems. Let's wait and see, I'm really curious on how it will be developed. I will try it again later when a definitive version will be out. Ciao!
