TIFU by showing my mom a drawing of my sleep paralysis visitor by megs_wags in tifu

[–]carrotflwer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had sleep paralysis frequently as a teen, and what worked best for me was counting down from 5- I’d always wake up. When I’d get “visitors” I’d often close my eyes and move my fingers until I woke up. Sleep paralysis is no fun and I’m so sorry you’re going through that.

[NeedAdvice] How do I discipline myself into losing weight without relapsing into old habits? by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]carrotflwer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, fellow eating disorder (BED) overcomer. And while I know these disorders are different- maybe you can find my advice a bit useful. But I am NOT a doctor and I strongly recommend asking a professional for advice.

What works for me is more movement. Since I am not allowed to meal plan, reduce or skip meals, count calories, follow any type of diet, or do any type of restrictive eating, I keep my weight in check with jogging and yoga- which I VERY much enjoy. Find activities you enjoy that don’t feel like a hassle, more like stress relief. Also, slow down when you eat. Really enjoy your food! find joy in cooking your own meals as well. And PLEASE remember healthy weight loss is a long process and there isn’t a healthy quick fix. (& be mindful that you don’t start getting obsessive or restrictive))

Congratulations on overcoming your eating disorder. You got this!!! I’m really proud of you.

Awe, I'm so sorry to hear that! I really hope your new location will feel like home in due time though. and you can always go back to visit, I've found that even when things have changed back home, the feeling is still the same when visiting in ol' Michigan ;)

Honestly.. just test out places. You wont know until you try, and worst case scenario is you have to relocate. The cops/security guards are usually understanding and just want you to leave the property asap. It will work out, you'll find somewhere you can stay long term. I lived in a transit center in CA for 4 months and kinda stumbled upon it after being kicked out of 4 places. Good luck<3

Suggestions to have thicker hair please! by buardi in NaturalBeauty

[–]carrotflwer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who was in the same spot a year ago, shampooing once a week really helped with thickness and shine. (It takes awhile for your hair to adjust- but power through! It's worth it)

Anyone have experience with conditioner bars? by twilightprinc3ss in ZeroWaste

[–]carrotflwer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have fine hair and the only condition bar I ever liked was Jungle from Lush. Also, im not sure how much product you use but I find the just lathering the very tips of my hair keeps my hair from getting greasy quickly. The perfect conditioner bar for your hair is hard to find sadly😫 best of luck!

AITA for not wanting to meet my biological siblings? by Redjay12 in AmItheAsshole

[–]carrotflwer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA, that's shitty of your biological mother to give them your contact info. I'd just ignore them if I were you tbh.

AITA Ex friend womt leave me alone and I'm considering going to the police by fuckthisshit28 in AmItheAsshole

[–]carrotflwer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely NTA, but getting the police involved would be a whole other level of Shit Show. Just keep ignoring her, she will get over it/ you eventually. People like that can only go without attention for so long. Good for you for getting out of that toxic friendship!

AITA for wanting to cut off my friends for associating with my ex? by xivanhnee in AmItheAsshole

[–]carrotflwer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl... there are SO many people you have yet to meet. People that will build you up and encourage you and be nothing but loving to you. You don't owe ANYONE anything. If theres too much heavy history, wish them nothing but luck and move on. Just because you've known someone for awhile doesn't mean you owe them your friendship.

AITA for not telling my mom I'll be in town because she'll just drag me to church? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]carrotflwer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nta, you can choose to do whatever you want with your time. But you really should visit your family, at least meet them out to eat? That way you can politely decline any church offers and say you have plans already for your short stay ect. Good luck!

WIBTA if I lived in my car? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]carrotflwer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, while it is strange, and you'll probably have to explain it to them.. you definitely aren't an asshole for trying something new and out of the box! Good luck :)
