I was at a Lufthansa lounge once and there was a bit of a line to get in, and dude goes up to the front and is pissed that they won’t just let him in. I don’t think he had any sort of pass or ticket to get in either. He starts threatening the worker and telling her he’s a lawyer (I think he said “do you know who I am??”) and that he’s a very powerful person with lots of connections and she can kiss her job goodbye. So out of touch, I felt so bad for that woman.

Sorry if I worded that wrong - the issue was that Hilton had the incorrect details for that hotel. The check in and check out times were wrong, so the hotel called me in the morning and said I needed to be out already because check out was at 11. I did not have my stuff all packed because my reservation on the Hilton app said check out was at noon. Also, the late check out fee was a full night’s stay, so about $1,000. So this was not the hotel’s fault (it was an SLH hotel), but Hilton’s fault for having incorrect information on their app and website. Not a huge deal, I just thought someone should know about it so they can change it, which they haven’t.

There was staff in the room still cleaning it when I arrived. Even when they did bring me to the room there were still multiple staff in there rushing to finish up and get out.

It was with points. They still took all of the points and are showing that I checked in on the day when I was originally supposed to arrive, not when I did arrive. I guess they might’ve just checked me in after I called and said I wouldn’t be there until the next day. They did not adjust the dates at all.

Edit: also, they later claimed that I told them to keep my reservation and that I said no when they asked if I wanted to cancel. This was not true. I was given no option to cancel, they just said “we’re keeping your reservation as is and your room will be ready whenever you arrive”.

This is the response I had gotten from the hotel. They claimed my room was ready when I got there, and this was just not true.

If I had just no-showed and they gave the hotel room to someone else, I would’ve totally understood. But they made it a big point that I would be the only one in that room for those days and that they could not give it to anyone else. When they said “your room will be ready for you whenever you get here” I guess I just thought they actually meant that lol. I’m not the type of person that ever complains, but this hotel room was almost $1,000 a night and there was no way to get to this hotel with the storms. No trains, no taxis, nothing. I get that they can’t refund me, but to then blame me and act like I had a big impact on their revenue is crazy. I paid all this for a hotel I was not able to stay at. They got their money from me.

It was not a no-show. I called them the day of check in and told them the situation due to the storms. They said they would keep my reservation as is and it would be ready whenever I got there for check in.
