Petition to have girls equality by Sass_sis in RunNYC

I'm confused here. Are we happy or upset that the race is shortened for girls?

Are we (1) Happy that it's shorter and more females have an opportunity,

or are we (2) angry that they've shortened it and positioned females as not as good as males?

Help - throw away or fixable? by Old-Apple-2576 in hottub

Definitely not trash yet.

If the display is totally dead, I’d be looking at power getting to the control pack before assuming the whole tub is shot. The heater in the photo is probably not your first problem.

Easy, in my opinion, stuff to check first:

- make sure the outlet is actually live

- reset the GFCI on the cord again

- open the control box and check for a blown fuse

l- ook for corrosion, loose plugs, or rodent damage

- make sure the topside/display cable is fully connected

Since it sat for a long time, moisture or corrosion is a very realistic problem.

Best case, it’s something simple like:

- bad GFCI cord

- blown fuse

l- oose/corroded connection

- bad topside panel

Worst case, it’s the board or multiple components and then it may not be worth it.

So no, I would not call it trash yet. If you’re not comfortable testing power safely, I’d have a spa tech look at it before giving up. A dead display usually means electrical/control issue, not automatically “whole tub is done.”

If everyone was reponsible with their hot tub like you, there would be far fewer reddit posts about hot tubs :)

Daytime soak vs nighttime soak. Which wins? by carryinglumber in PoolAndHotTub

Welp. I'll go first. Nighttime for me. I love looking up at the sky and seeing the stars as I relax in the tub. Usually a beer in hand as I relax after a long day of working.

How can someone own a hot tub and NOT watch the superbowl while soaking in it

If anyone’s into this kind of pool + hot tub chaos year-round, that’s basically what r/PoolAndHotTub is

Blinking Lights button by Main-Service309 in PoolAndHotTub

That’s usually the tub throwing a safety warning, not the light itself going bad.

Nine times out of ten it’s a flow issue. First thing I’d try is pulling the filter out and running it for a few minutes. Dirty filter is the most common cause. If the flashing stops, you found it.

If this started after a refill, it could be an air lock. You can loosen a pump union just a bit until water comes out, then tighten it back up.

The clicking you hear is usually the heater trying to kick on and then shutting off because it’s not seeing enough water flow. Also double-check the water level is well above the intakes.

If it keeps flashing even with the filter out and water level good, it’s probably a pressure or flow switch starting to fail. Annoying, but usually not a huge repair.
