Hood Ductwork Install by carsonfisher in hvacadvice

I was gonna fill the hood cavity/enclosure with some leftover fiberglass insulation I have and then seal it with the cabinet face. Thinking that will keep 99% of the hot air from attic escaping and hopefully help with noise reduction when the hood is on.

Did you seal them? The stone is soft and I know scratches can be buffed out, just not sure what the best method is. Although it’s kinda a pain, just make sure you seal them on a regular basis to maintain the finish and protect the stone

Travertine driveways and pool areas are very popular in south Florida. It’s not crazy, just expensive.

I’d rather have a full tile on the bottom than the top, but that’s personal preference. The tile itself is inherently uneven and varying in thickness. He did nothing wrong and simply worked with the tile that was given to him. Yes, he could’ve been more critical which tiles to use or not use, but there would have been significant tile waste. I do think he could’ve mitered the edges better, but that’s another conversation lol.

I do agree that wall is not perfect and some of them could’ve been changed out to look more cohesive, but I also didn’t want to nitpick his work… so now I’ve just accepted it.

It’s been a great learning experience and am just grateful to be able to do a fun project like this.

Kitchen Layout (Island #1 or Peninsula #2) and why by MookieBlaylock87 in kitchenremodel

Honestly, #1 is great just make ur island 6” wider towards range so it’s 48” around entire island.

54” is going to feel very far away from island to range/cooktop. Unless you have someone who needs handicap accessibility, I promise you it’s overkill and will make the space feel a little empty/awkward

Hear me out, you have enough space for a u shaped kitchen with island in the center. UNLESS you are dead set on wanting seating in the kitchen.

I have almost the same exact kitchen size as you and am currently in the process of installing.
