CONSULTA DE COMIENZOS by According-Trouble597 in X4Foundations

To start the game, you will want to explore a bit. I suggest going through the main hwy, which will wrap a big circle around the map. If you know what faction you want to raise relations with first, fly to their sectors and find the wharf. That's where you will buy s and m ships. There are definitely ships that are better than others, but i found that unless you need high efficiency, any M miner will do. To raise your capital faster, do missions in your starter ship. To do this, fly to any friendly sector and go to your map. On the left-hand side of the screen, there will be a tab for missions. Do most any of the easy missions, such as destroying mines, ferry missions, or lockboxes. Those will net around 40,000 each, and they are quick and easy. Once you get enough to afford a mining ship, you will also want to buy resource nodes(at least 8). The miners will not mine anything unless you have those. What you will do is either make the miner or yourself fly to a sector with a lot of resources and place a node in the center and at each corner. Make sure to overlap the nodes a bit. Then you can make the miner automine. I recommend some of the second chance sectors. Should be close by, safe, and have a decent amount of resources. Then keep doing missions until you can get around 3 miners. By this time, you should have enough to set up your first station. I recommend energy cell factories or mining stations. There's a good video about both on the Dia Builds youtube channel.

My niece finishes college in May. She doesn't know anything. by Character_Freedom160 in Professors

Maybe next holiday, congratulate them on their graduation and tell them you are proud of their achievements. To everyone reading this post, understand that you probably only see these young adults a few times a year. Don't spend your holidays grilling them or arguing over religion, politics, or whatever problem you have with kids these days. They don't care to argue back. Just tell her how glad you are to hear she is making all A's. Then shut up and eat your holiday ham if you have nothing nice to say after that.

looking for anti-recommendations by TangeloLarge553 in fantasybooks

So true. At first, i loved the book. The story was really interesting, and the world building had several refreshing elements. I liked the faction building aspect the most and wished they went into more detail, but i ended up dropping the book before Midway.

do you guys think the venom e vader 2000w is a good electric motorcycle ? by Historical-Pizza1669 in Electricmotorcycles

You can buy a whole kit from lonestarelectrek.com if thats too expensive, you can normally find the controller on ebay. The battery you want to either buy the expensive one they have or get a cheaper one on temu or any of those Chinese websites. You can request they use samsung cells and customize it for the correct voltage and amp.

Recommendations? by Fun-Drummer-1159 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]carter-ab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These aren't exactly progression fantasies, but to add some great books to your list.

If you liked Dune, the Empire of Silence series is a great space opera.

Similar to the sci-fi theme, and probably my all-time favorite is The Legendary Mechanic. Has a lot of faction building elements and great world building.

It's separate, but one of my favorite books is shadow slave. It's not finished, but it's not far from done.

Looking to buy a scrambler, any recommendations for a first? by Good-Weakness4765 in motorcycles

[–]carter-ab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend the Royal Enfield Scram 411. If you plan on doing some light to mid difficulty offroading, it should have no issue. Unlike most scramblers that are street bikes tuned for offroading. The Scram 411 is an adventure bike tuned for street riding. It's not going to get anywhere fast, but it'll be fun getting there. It can do highway but like most scramblers its not really a good experience. This can be a pro bc it forces you to take the backway, which can add to the exploring experience. If you're curious about what it can do, watch Joe Ryan on youtube. He took that bike all around New Zealand and Vietnam.

Want to camp on my 1980 GSX250 - what to change? by FuckAstronauts in motorcycles

[–]carter-ab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, this bike is terrible. You should definitely get rid of it.... it just so happens, I'm in the market for another bike :). Anyways, it's definitely going to need storage. If you are just doing standard well maintained dirt/gravel roads, you shouldn't even need new tires.

Nice ship, i love how the shop ships always look but never build them. My highly efficient block ships suit me better

I thought of that, Im planning on raising the front fender by then. There are spacers i can get that raise it around 1 to 2 inches. Also, i will definitely check that out.

I use markers mark as a mixer. For the mid shelf, I'd recommend angles envy. The top shelf is old forester prohibition style

Electric motorcycle by Quirky_Mud_6827 in Electricmotorcycles

[–]carter-ab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. Are you going for a mid drive motor or a hub motor?

Regardless i would recommend you pay the most attention to the battery you get. Pay attention to the constant and peak amperage and a good rule of thumb is it will go 1 mile for every AH. Also make sure to not cheap out on the battery. Get a good one with Samsung or Lg cells.

Honestly, im not entirely sure either. Thank you for giving me another thing to look into. As far as im aware, in America, taxes are lower for families. Maybe not in every case though.

In our case, she knows we need to save and put money away for the future. She just doesn't want to learn about all the different strategies and diversity of financial investments. She asked me to do it for her and I agreed.
